Grosvenor Rowing Club
__NOTOC__ Grosvenor Rowing Club is based on the Groves in Chester. It rows on the River Dee and has around 30 km of rowable river, much of which straight and broad. The club colours are dark blue and orange. History Grosvenor ( ) or is named in honour of the Grosvenor family who own the land on which the club is built. The club names its eights (8+s) after members of the family. The club was formed in 1869 to enable the less fortunate people of Chester to take up the sport of rowing. Grosvenor Street is a street in the central business district of Sydney in New South Wales, Australia. Grosvenor Street runs in an east to west direction, with traffic flowing in both directions. The eastern terminus is at George Street and the western terminus is at the junction of York Street with the Bradfield Highway. There are no major cross streets. Grosvenor Road
South Tyneside College is a large further education college in South Tyneside in North East England. Its main site is in the town of South Shields. The college offers part-time and full-time courses for young students and adults. It was formed in 1984 by the merger of Hebburn Technical College and the Marine and Technical College, the latter founded in 1861 by a trust created by Dr Thomas Winterbottom, a former surgeon-general in Sierra Leone. The Grosvenor Mountains () are a group of widely scattered mountains and nunataks rising above the Antarctic polar plateau east of the head of Mill Glacier, extending from Mount Pratt in the north to the Mount Raymond area in the south, and from Otway Massif in the northwest to Larkman Nunatak in the southeast. Discovery and naming The Grosvenor Mountains were discovered by Rear Admiral Richard E. Byrd on the Byrd Antarctic Expedition flight to the South Pole in November 1929, and named by him for Gilbert Hovey Grosvenor, President of the National Geographic Society, which helped finance the expedition. Grosvenor House is a twin tower complex in Dubai Marina in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Grosvenor Grammar School (formerly Grosvenor High School) is an 11–18 co-educational, grammar school and sixth form in Belfast, Northern Ireland. History Grosvenor Grammar School was founded in 1945 as Grosvenor High School, by the Belfast City Council, Belfast Corporation, to cope with the increase in demand for grammar-school education in the area. It was sited on Roden Street, off Grosvenor Road, and remained there until 1958, when the school moved to Cameronian Drive in the east of the city. In 2010, the school moved to its present location, Marina Park. In order to avoid confusion with non-grammar 'high schools', the school changed its name in 1993 to Grosvenor Grammar School. Grosvenor Chambers, at number 9 Collins Street, Melbourne, contained the first custom-built complex of artists' studios in Australia. Initiation The owner was Edinburgh-born Charles Stewart Paterson (1843-1917) who with W. Davidson, and also in 1888, purchased for speculation the 'Bondi Aquarium and Pleasure Grounds' in Sydney. He, in partnership with his brother James, had a high-end decorating business in Melbourne designing interiors for Kamesbrough in Brighton, Government House, Melbourne, Government House, the Melbourne Town Hall, and the Parliamentary Library, and after his retirement from the firm in 1880 built Grosvenor Chambers. Grosvenor Centre
The Grosvenor Centre is a shopping centre in the town centre of Northampton, England. Work started in 1972 and the building opened in 1976. The two-level centre is located adjacent to Market Square, and is owned by Evolve Estates, after purchasing the centre from Legal & General in 2022 for an undisclosed sum. In 2014 it underwent a £3 million refurbishment. Location The Grosvenor Centre is located on the site of a previous medieval monastery in the centre of Northampton. The centre is linked to both the Market Square and Abington Street. It has its own multi-storey car park and was formerly connected to the Greyfriars bus station.
