The Felix Grimes House, at 1301 Leitchfield Rd. in Owensboro, Kentucky, was perhaps built around 1867–76. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1975. Grimes House And Mill Complex
The Grimes House and Mill Complex, located on Boone's Creek in Fayette County, Kentucky, near Lexington, Kentucky, dates from 1813. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982. It is historically significant in that it is considered to be one of the "most important early commercial buildings remaining in central Kentucky." Description The complex of buildings that make up the site include the mill building, the Grimes family home, the springhouse, a cemetery and the foundations of a former flax house and a distillery. In the mid-20th century, a barn, guest house and riding arena was constructed. The Flemish bond pattern stonework used in construction are considered "some of the finest to be seen in central Kentucky. Jonathan Taylor Grimes House
The Jonathan Taylor Grimes House is one of the oldest standing houses in Edina, Minnesota, United States. Description and history It was built in 1869, and appears to have been influenced by Andrew Jackson Downing's book ''The Architecture of Country Houses''. The house is a 1½ story frame cottage with intersecting gable roofs, dormers, a bay window, and a shallow front porch. Gothic Revival details are found in the second-story windows, the steeply pitched roof lines, and the gabled wall dormers. Some Italianate influences are also present in the shallow portico and the wide eaves with scroll-cut brackets. The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1976. The owner of the house, Jonathan Taylor Grimes, was an early settler in the Edina area and a pioneer horticulturist. The Grimes Homestead, also known as Grimes Farm, is a historic home in Mountain Lakes, Morris County, New Jersey, United States. It was constructed in the late 18th Century and served as a way station on the Underground Railroad for runaway slaves. Anti-slavery advocate and Quaker, Dr. John Grimes (1802–1875), was born in this house and lived here until 1828. He moved back to the homestead in 1832, but subsequently moved to the neighboring community of Boonton.
