Gregory Berríos
Gregory Berríos (born January 24, 1979) is a volleyball player from Puerto Rico, who was a member of the Puerto Rico men's national volleyball team, Men's National Team that ended up in sixth place at the 2007 FIVB Men's World Cup in Japan. Playing as a libero (volleyball), libero he was named ''Best Receiver'' at the 2003 Men's NORCECA Volleyball Championship, 2003 NORCECA Championship and ''Best Digger'', ''Best Receiver'' and ''Best Libero'' at the 2009 Men's NORCECA Volleyball Championship, 2009 NORCECA Championship. He won with his team the Bronze medal and the ''Best Libero'' and ''Best Receiver'' individual awards at the 2010 Men's Pan-American Volleyball Cup, 2010 Pan-American Cup. 2006 FIVB Volleyball Men's World Championship
The 2006 FIVB Men's Volleyball World Championship was held in Japan from 17 November to 3 December 2006. Like the previous edition, 24 teams participated in the tournament. Brazil won the Tournament (retaining their championship title), defeating Poland 3:0 in the final match. Bulgaria placed 3rd, defeating Serbia and Montenegro 3:1 in the 3rd place match. The Polish team dedicated this achievement to the deceased Polish volleyball player Arkadiusz Gołaś. The team honored him at the award ceremony, when they wore T-shirts with the number 16 and the words "Golas". Host Finals hosts Japan. The tournament was held in six Japan cities. Volleyball is a team sport in which two teams of six players are separated by a net. Each team tries to score points by grounding a ball on the other team's court under organized rules. It has been a part of the official program of the Summer Olympic Games since Tokyo 1964. Beach volleyball was introduced to the program at the Atlanta 1996 Summer Olympics. The Men's Pan-American Volleyball Cup is a men's volleyball tournament organized by NORCECA. Initially, only NORCECA teams participated, but CSV teams have been invited since 2010.
