State Road 37 (SR 37) is a major route in the U.S. state of Indiana, running as a four-lane divided highway for 110 miles of its course. At one time, the route ran from the southwest corner of the state to the northeast corner. In the pre-Interstate Highway era, Indiana 37 was the most direct route between Fort Wayne and Indianapolis. Interstate 69 has supplanted it as a through route, and State Road 37 now consists of two disconnected segments. The longer segment starts at Tell City on the Ohio River and ends in Marion in north central Indiana. The other segment in northeastern Indiana runs from Interstate 469 near Fort Wayne to the Ohio state line. Clay Township is one of fourteen townships in Morgan County, Indiana, United States. As of the 2010 census, its population was 4,292 and it contained 1,707 housing units. The township contains the incorporated towns of Brooklyn and Bethany, and the unincorporated town of Centerton. The entire township lies within the Metropolitan School District of Martinsville, with elementary schools at both Brooklyn and Centerton. Clay Township is also home to the Goethe Link Observatory and Bradford Woods, both affiliated to Indiana University. Indiana's 4th congressional district is a congressional district in the U.S. state of Indiana. From 2003 to 2013 the district was based primarily in the central part of the state, and consisted of all of Boone, Clinton, Hendricks, Morgan, Lawrence, Montgomery, and Tippecanoe counties and parts of Fountain, Johnson, Marion, Monroe, and White counties. Indiana State Road 44 (SR 44) in the State of Indiana begins in the west at Interstate 69 and State Road 37 (SR 37) in Martinsville and runs eastward to the Ohio state line in Union County in two broken sections. It is broken in Franklin from Indiana State Road 144 and Interstate 65. Route description From Martinsville, its western terminus, at I-69 and SR 37, SR 44 heads east toward Franklin. Upon entering Franklin SR 44 ends at the intersection with State Road 144. (The route continues east as Jefferson St. and crosses US 31 and onto Forsythe and King Streets to Interstate 65.)
