Green Bay Phoenix Men's Soccer
The Green Bay Phoenix men's soccer team is a National Collegiate Athletic Association Division I college soccer team composed of student-athletes attending the University of Wisconsin–Green Bay. The Phoenix play their home matches at the newly constructed turf field, Festival Foods Field at Aldo Santaga Stadium, as of 2018. Like most of the other Green Bay Phoenix athletic teams, the men's soccer team competes in the Horizon League of the National Collegiate Athletic Association. They have advanced to the NCAA Division I Tournament twice, in 1983 and 2009. They have also sent players to the pros in recent years, such as alumni Tosaint Ricketts and Kyle Ihn. Horizon League
The Horizon League is an 11-school collegiate athletic conference in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I, whose members are located in and near the Great Lakes region. The Horizon League founded in 1979 as the Midwestern City Conference. The conference changed its name to Midwestern Collegiate Conference in 1985 and then the Horizon League in 2001. The conference started with a membership of six teams and has fluctuated in size with 24 different schools as members at different times. The League currently has 11 members. Tosaint Ricketts
Tosaint Antony Ricketts (born 6 August 1987) is a Canadian former professional soccer player. He last played for the Vancouver Whitecaps FC and, until 2020, the Canada national team as a forward. Club career Early career Ricketts was one of the top short-distance runners in Alberta, and he began his youth career playing Division I soccer for the Green Bay Phoenix at University of Wisconsin Green Bay. Kyle Ihn (born December 10, 1994) is an American soccer player who plays as a goalkeeper for OKC Energy FC of the USL Championship. Career College and Amateur Ihn played four years of college soccer for the Green Bay Phoenix at the University of Wisconsin–Green Bay between 2013 and 2016. While at college, Ihn played with Premier Development League side Kokomo Mantis FC during their 2016 season. Following college, he also appeared for Des Moines Menace. Professional On March 30, 2018, Ihn signed a professional contract with USL club Reno 1868. Ihn was released by Reno on December 3, 2018.
