Gražina Degutytė-Švažienė (born 7 June 1938 in Tauragė) is a Lithuanian ceramic artist. Biography Gražina Degutytė-Švažienė graduated from the Lithuanian Institute of Fine Arts. Since 1962, she has worked and taught at the Lithuanian Institute of Art (since 1990 at the Vilnius Academy of Fine Arts). She has curated exhibits. Tauragė
Tauragė (; see #Names and etymology, other names) is an industrial city in Lithuania, and the capital of Tauragė County. In 2020, its population was 20,956. Tauragė is situated on the Jūra, Jūra River, close to the border with the Kaliningrad Oblast, and not far from the Baltic Sea coast. Although first mentioned in 1507, Tauragė did not receive its town privileges, city charter until 1924, and its coat of arms (a silver hunting horn in a red field) until 1997. The previously small town was significantly developed in the 19th century and early 20th century, however its architecture suffered devastating damages during World War I and World War II. Vilnius Academy Of Fine Arts
The Vilnius Academy of Arts (, previously ''State Art Institute of Lithuania'') in Vilnius, Lithuania, grants a variety of degrees in the arts. History The Academy traces its roots back to the creation of the Architecture Department at Vilnius University in the former Grand Duchy of Lithuania in 1793. The Department of Painting and Drawing was established in 1797, followed by the Department of Graphics (Engraving), and in 1805 – the Departments of Sculpture and History of art. In 1832, the university was closed, and reopened in 1919 with departments of Painting, Sculpture and Graphic Art. In 1940, the art studies in Lithuania were united under Vilnius Art Institute and Kaunas Art School.
