The ''Visuotinė lietuvių enciklopedija'' or VLE (translation ''Universal Lithuanian Encyclopedia'') is a 25-volume universal Lithuanian-language encyclopedia published by the Science and Encyclopaedia Publishing Institute from 2001 to 2014. VLE is the first published universal encyclopedia in independent Lithuania (it replaces the former ''Lietuviškoji Tarybinė Enciklopedija'' which was published in thirteen volumes from 1976 to 1985). Šušvė Landscape Sanctuary
The Šušvė Landscape Sanctuary ( lt, Šušvės kraštovaizdžio draustinis) is a protected area of a state importance in Josvainiai Eldership, Kėdainiai District Municipality, in central Lithuania. It was established in 1974 and covers an area of . It covers the lower course of the Šušvė river between Macgaliai village and the Šušvė confluence with the Nevėžis river. It also include the lower courses of the Šušvė tributaries the Žiedupė, the Vikšrupis and the Putnupys. The aim of the sanctuary is to protect the Šušvė river valley with outcrops and vimba spawning grounds. The valley is of width, depth, slopes and terraces are covered by bushes and leafy groves. The river course is loopy, there are oxbow lakes. The river flow is rapid, deeply burrows into the earth. There are outcrops of Devonic sand, clay and gypsum. Šušvė
Šušvė is a river in central Lithuania, a right (the longest) tributary of the Nevėžis river. It begins in Kelmė district municipality, 6 km (4 mi) southeast from Tytuvėnai. The river passes through Tytuvėnai and Sulinkiai Marshes and flows south through Radviliškis district municipality. Finally, Šušvė passes through Kėdainiai district municipality and flows into the Nevėžis near Graužiai village. The width of the river valley is between 0.5 and 3 km. From December to March Šušvė is usually frozen. Dams were built at Vaitiekūnai and Angiriai (Angiriai Reservoir). The Šušvė Hydrological Sanctuary was established in 1992 to protect the lower courses of the river. Kunioniai
Kunioniai (''Kunionys'', formerly russian: Куняны, pl, Kuniany) is a village in Kėdainiai district municipality, in Kaunas County, in central Lithuania. According to the 2011 census, the village had a population of 321 people. It is located from Josvainiai, nearby the Šušvė river, by the Josvainiai- Kampai II road. There are library, agriculture companies, farms. Former Jasnagurka manor is located next to Kunioniai. History Kunioniai is known since 1593. It developed alongside the ancient road to Kaunas and probably belonged to the Josvainiai manor. There was a small Jewish community which hosted a tavern, distillated vodka and baked cakes. There was a watermill on the Vikšrupis river and four wooden crosses made by Vincas Svirskis (did not survive till nowadays). The first school was opened in 1929. Eastern European Summer Time (EEST) is one of the names of the UTC+03:00 time zone, which is 3 hours ahead of Coordinated Universal Time. The territory of Lithuania is divided into 10 counties ( Lithuanian: singular ''apskritis'', plural ''apskritys''), all named after their capitals. Josvainiai Eldership ( lt, Josvainių seniūnija) is a Lithuanian eldership, located in the southern part of Kėdainiai District Municipality. Eldership was created from the Josvainiai ''selsovet'' in 1993. Geography The territory of Josvainiai Eldership is located mostly in the Nevėžis Plain, but the western edges are in the East Samogitian Plateau.
