Government Municipal Degree College, Faisalabad,, previously known as Lyallpur Khalsa College, (خالصہ کالج لائل پور) Faisalabad, is a degree college located in Faisalabad, Pakistan. on Faisalabad-Jaranwala Road near Abdullah pur. It was founded by Master Sunder Singh Lyallpuri in 1908 in the building of Lyallpur Sangh Sabha as Khalsa High School. The philanthropists of the city donated land and other resources for the establishment of the school. Noted Sikh statesman Master Tara Singh served as the first headmaster of the school and it was here that he got the title of 'Master' prefixed to his name. Lyallpur Khalsa College is a multi-faculty co-educational college located in Jalandhar, Punjab. The college is one of the biggest colleges in region in context of student strength, academic courses offered and co-curricular and sports achievements. Sunder Singh Lyallpuri
Sunder Singh Lyallpuri (1878 – 3 March 1969) was a leading Sikh member of the Indian independence movement, a general of the Akali Movement, an educationist, and a journalist. Lyallpuri played a key role in the development of the Shiromani Akali Dal and in the Gurdwara Reform Movement of the early 1920s. He was also a founding member of the Central Sikh League. He took part in several roles in the establishment and growth of Indian independence. Family history and early life Sunder Singh was born in 1878 into a Kamboj farmer's family in Village Bohoru in Amritsar. His father's name was Lakhmir Singh Sandha and his mother's was Ram Kaur. Master Tara Singh
Tara Singh (24 June 1885 – 22 November 1967) was a Sikh political and religious figure in India in the first half of the 20th century. He was instrumental in organising the Shiromani Gurdwara Prabhandak Committee and guiding the Sikhs during the partition of India, which he strongly opposed. He later led their demand for a Sikh-majority state in East Punjab. His daughter was the Indian journalist and politician Rajinder Kaur. Early life Singh was born on 24 June 1885 in Rawalpindi, Punjab Province in British India into a Malhotra Khatri family. Later he became a high school teacher upon his graduation from Lyallpur Khalsa College, Lyallpur, in 1907. Prithviraj Kapoor (born Prithvinath Kapoor; 3 November 1906 – 29 May 1972) was an Indian actor who is also considered to be one of the founding figures of Hindi cinema. He was associated with IPTA as one of its founding members and established the Prithvi Theatres in 1944 as a travelling theatre company based in Bombay.
