Government Jubilee High School
Government Jubilee High school, Sunamganj, is a public secondary school in Sunamganj District, Bangladesh. It was established in 1887 by Prassana –Kumar Dey, son of Pran Krishna Nath Roy Choudhury, Zamindar of Kajalshah and the first person to graduate from Presidency College Calcutta, Presidency College Calcutta from Sylhet. Pran Krishna Nath Roy Choudhury donated land in the early 18th century for the Jugaltila Akhara in memory of his father the Zamindar of Gouripur Jugal Kishore Roy Choudhary which today houses the ISKON Temple. Who was the only son of Nawab Siraj ud Doula, adopted son by Mayman Sing Zamindar. Prassanas house in Sunamgunj was where poor students were educated free of cost. Abdus Samad Azad
Abdus Samad Azad (; 15 January 1922 – 27 April 2005) was a Bangladeshi diplomat and politician. He was elected to Bangladesh's parliament five times from 1970 to 2001. He was also elected Member of Lower Assembly in the Parliament of the then East Pakistan. He became President of the Muslim Student Federation of All - Asam in 1946 and led the Language Movement in 1952. Early life Azad was born on 15 January 1922 in the village of Bhurakhali, Jagannathpur, Sunamganj, Sylhet, Assam in the then British India. He passed matriculation from Government Jubilee High School, Sunamganj in 1943 and graduated from Murari Chand College, Sylhet in 1948. Bidhan Ranjan Roy Poddar
Bidhan Ranjan Roy Poddar (; born 1963) is an adviser to the Bangladesh Interim government. He served as director of the National Institute of Mental Health and Hospital's department of psychiatry. Early life Poddar was born in 1963 to a Hindu family of Rai Poddars in Madhyanagar, Sunamganj subdivision, Sylhet district, East Pakistan. He is the eldest among the three sons of Dr. Gopi Ranjan Roy Poddar and Madhavilata Roy Poddar. Shahed Ali (writer)
Shahed Ali (; 24 May 19256 November 2001) was a Bangladeshi litterateur and cultural activist. Aside from being an educationist and his journalism, he was one of the founders of the nationwide Tamaddun Majlish which initiated the Bengali language movement. He edited multiple magazines, was the founding secretary of the Islamic Academy (now Islamic Foundation Bangladesh), and is best known for his magnum opus, the short story ''Jibrailer Dana'' (Gabriel's Wings). Asaddor Ali
Mohammad Asaddor Ali () was a Bangladeshi writer, researcher and historian. His research primarily focused on the history of Sylhet. Due to his achievements, he was awarded the Bangla Academy Literary Award in 2004. His research discovered unknown information about Sylheti folk literature, and he wrote 19 books relating to it. Early life Ali was born into a Bengali Muslim family in the village of Ludorpur in Jagannathpur, Sunamganj Subdivision in 1929. He was the third child of a family of five sons and one daughter. His mother, Mastura Khatun, was a teacher at the Ludorpur Ayaan Munshi Primary School. His father's name was Moulvi Muhammad Uthman Ullah. BNCC
The Bangladesh National Cadet Corps (BNCC) is a tri-services volunteer reserve defence force comprising the Army, Navy and Air Force wing for school, college and university students.
