Gottlieb Stäuble
Gottlieb "Godi" Stäuble (27 April 1929 – 24 April 2015) was a Swiss footballer who played in the late 1940s, 1950s and 1960s. He played mainly as a midfielder but also as a forward. Club career Just 17 years old Stäuble joined Basel's first team during the 1946–47 season, but he did not play in any first team matches that season. It seems that he played with the youth or the reserve team. In the next season, as Ernst Hufschmid took over as player-coach following head coach Anton Schall death, Stäuble was given his chance. First he played a test match with the team against local rivals Nordstern Basel on 24 August 1947. Basel won the game 2–0 and Stäuble netted both goals. He played his domestic league debut for the club in the away game on 31 August as Basel drew 1–1 with Servette. Servette FC is a Swiss professional Association football, football club based in Geneva, founded in March 1890 with rugby as its first sporting activity, and named after the Geneva district of the same name. Peter-Jürgen Sanmann
Peter-Jürgen Sanmann (5 August 1935 – 15 March 2016) was a German professional footballer who played in the 1950s and 1960s. He played as forward or winger. Career Club Sanmann played youth football with SC Concordia von 1907 in Hamburg. Playing for the amateur league team, he was nominated by national coach Sepp Herberger for the debut game of the newly launched junior national team (U–23) for the international match against Yugoslavia in Frankfurt on 25 June 1955. In the 3–3 draw, he played on the left wing and scored a goal. Sanmann signed his first professional contract with FC Basel's club chairman Jules Düblin. He joined their first team for their 1955–56 season under trainer Béla Sárosi. Silvan Thüler
Silvan "Sämi" Thüler (1 August 1932 – 13 August 2011) was a Swiss international footballer. He played as a defender. After his football career he became restaurant landlord and later a manager. Football career Born in Solothurn, Thüler played his youth football with FC Solothurn, advancing to their first team in the summer of 1950. At the end of the 1951–52 season Solothurn won their group in the Swiss 1. Liga (third national level) and in the play-offs won promotion to the Nationalliga B. Thüler remained with his club for a further three seasons. Transfer fees in Switzerland were rising rapidly in this period. FC Lugano is a Swiss professional football club based in Lugano. The club was refounded as AC Lugano in 2004 as a result of relegation and the financial situation of FC Lugano, which was founded in 1908. In 2008, the club reverted to its original name, FC Lugano.
