Jiro Taniguchi
was a Japanese mangaka, manga writer/artist. His works belong to the gekiga, or "dramatic pictures", genre of manga. In France he was knighted a Chevalier of the Ordre des Arts et des Lettres in 2011. Career Taniguchi began his career as an assistant manga artist, assistant of manga artist Kyūta Ishikawa. He made his manga debut in 1970 with ''Kareta Heya'', published in the magazine Young Comic. From 1978 to 1986, he created several hard-boiled comics with the scenarist Natsuo Sekigawa, such as ''City Without Defense'', ''The Wind of the West Is White'', and ''Lindo 3''. ''Solty Rei'' is a Japanese anime television series animated by Gonzo and AIC following the inhabitants of a city where an Aurora prevents aerial travel. Plot The story is set on the "Planet of Endless Illusion", a place where rogues of all sorts gather. is a Japanese anime television series produced by Sunrise. Directed by Masakazu Obara and written by Hiroyuki Yoshino, it premiered in Japan on TV Tokyo from September 2004 to March 2005. The series focuses on the lives of HiMEs—girls with the capacity to materialize photons—gathered at Fuka Academy for secret purposes. The series was licensed for North American distribution by Bandai Entertainment and European distribution by Bandai's European subsidiary, Beez, with the first American DVD released in March 2006. , also known as ''s.CRY.ed'' or ''Scryed'', is a 26-episode Japanese anime television series which first aired in Japan on TV Tokyo. Infinite Ryvius
is a 26-episode science fiction drama anime series produced by Sunrise. The character and mecha designs in ''Ryvius'' were created by Hisashi Hirai, who later went on to design characters for '' Gundam SEED''. Gasaraki
is a 1998 mecha anime television series produced by Sunrise. It was directed by Ryousuke Takahashi, who also co-created the series along with Sunrise (Hajime Yatate). Goro Taniguchi was the assistant director. The screenplay was written by Toru Nozaki. The series centers on Yushiro Gowa who pilots a bipedal weapons system known as a TA, short for Tactical Armor. Much of the initial plot is driven by means of news reports. Set in the near-future, the series is formed around political narratives that concern a fictional war between the US and the fictional Middle Eastern country of Belgistan.
