Club Gorilas de Juanacatlán is a football club that plays in the Liga Premier de México – Serie B. It is based in the city of Juanacatlán. History The team was founded in 2016 with the aim of training professional players from neighboring towns: El Salto and Juanacatlán, Jalisco. In the 2018–19 season, the team finished in third position of group X with 81 points. So Gorilas managed to qualify for the promotion playoff. On the Round of 32 Gorilas defeated Valle F.C. by 9–1 on the aggregate, however, in the Round of 16 the Juanacatlán team was eliminated by Orgullo Surtam on penalty series after drawing 2–2 in the aggregate. Juanacatlán () is a town and ''municipio'' (municipality) in the central region of the Mexican state of Jalisco. Origin of name Juanacatlán gets its name from the Nahuatl word "Xonacatlan", which means ''place abundant in onions'' or ''onion place'' (from "Xonaca" for onions and "Tlan" for place). Liga TDP is a professional association football league in Mexico and the fourth level of the Mexican football league system. Formerly known as Tercera División de México (1967–2017). It has 223 participating clubs, divided into 17 regional groups by geographic location. The 2024–25 Liga TDP season was the fourth-tier Association football, football league of Mexico. The tournament began on 5 September 2024 and finished on 6 June 2025. Competition format The Tercera División (Third Division) is divided into 17 groups. Since the 2009–2010 season, the format of the tournament has been reorganized to a home and away format, which all teams will play in their respective group. El Salto, Jalisco
El Salto is a city, and the surrounding municipality of the same name, in the central region of the Mexican state of Jalisco. The municipality covers a surface area of with a population of 232,852.
