Goran Rakočević
Goran Rakočević ( sr-cyr, Горан Ракочевић; born March 1, 1951) is a Serbian former professional basketball player. He is the father of Igor Rakočević, a Serbian professional basketball executive and former player. Playing career Rakočević spent entire playing career in Crvena zvezda of the Yugoslav Basketball League, where he played during 1970s. His teammates were Zoran Slavnić, Dragan Kapičić, Ljubodrag Simonović, Dragiša Vučinić and Vladimir Cvetković among others. With them he won the National Championships, three National Cups and the 1974 FIBA European Cup Winners' Cup (nowadays Saporta Cup). National team career Rakočević was a member of the Yugoslavian national team that won the gold medal at the 1975 Mediterranean Games in Algeria. During his career he played 17 games for the national team. Dragiša Vučinić ( sr-cyr, Драгиша Вучинић; born 4 April 1948) is a Serbian former professional basketball player and coach who spent major part of his career with Crvena zvezda. Playing career Vučinić grew up playing basketball for his hometown team KK Lokomotiva Mostar. In 1967, he left the club joining Belgrade-based team Crvena zvezda. Crvena zvezda (1967–1979) On 2 May 1967, Vučinić made his debut with Crvena zvezda, in a game with Split. He spent, almost, entire playing career with the club, playing in the end of 1960s and during 1970s. Serbia Men's National Basketball Team
The Serbia men's national basketball team () represents Serbia in international men's basketball competition, and is controlled by the Basketball Federation of Serbia. Serbia is currently ranked second in the FIBA World Ranking. From 1992 to 2003, the national team played in international tournaments under the name FR Yugoslavia, and from 2003 to 2006, under the name Serbia and Montenegro. EuroBasket 2001
The 2001 FIBA European Championship, commonly called FIBA EuroBasket 2001, was the 32nd FIBA EuroBasket regional basketball championship held by FIBA Europe, which also served as Europe qualifier for the 2002 FIBA World Championship, giving a berth to the top four (or five, depending on Serbia reaching one of the top four places) teams in the final standings. The Alphonso Ford EuroLeague Top Scorer Trophy, also known as the EuroLeague best scorer, is an annual basketball award of Europe's premier level league, the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague. It is given to the top scorer throughout the EuroLeague season, up until the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague Final Four stage of the season. The award, under its current name, began in the 2004–05 season, and is named after the late Alphonso Ford, who was one of the greatest scorers in EuroLeague history.
