Goran Orešić
Goran Orešić (born 28 April 1975) is a former professional tennis player from Croatia. Biography Orešić played in two Davis Cup ties for the Croatian team, both in 1996. He debuted in the reverse singles of a tie against Ukraine, with his win over Sergei Yaroshenko securing a 5–0 scoreline. His other appearance came in the World Group qualifier against Australia in Split, where he was beaten by Mark Philippoussis. On the ATP Tour he twice featured in the singles main draw of the Croatia Open Umag, as a qualifier in 1995 and 1996. As a doubles player he made the quarter-finals of the Zagreb Indoors in 1996 and 1997. He is a former coach of Croatian player Ivo Karlović, who was his childhood friend and former doubles partner. Sergei Yaroshenko (born 6 April 1977) is a Ukrainian former professional tennis player. Yaroshenko, a left-handed player from Nova Kakhovka, reached a best singles world ranking of 356 and was a member of the Ukraine Davis Cup team between 1996 and 2005. He registered four Davis Cup singles wins, including a five set win over the Ivory Coast's Valentin Sanon in the fifth and deciding rubber of a 2003 tie. Mark Philippoussis
Mark Anthony Philippoussis (born 7 November 1976) is an Australian tennis coach, commentator and former professional tennis player of Greek and Italian descent. Philippoussis' greatest achievements are winning two Davis Cup titles with Australia Davis Cup team, Australia in 1999 Davis Cup, 1999 and 2003 Davis Cup, 2003, winning the deciding rubber in the final of each. The Croatia Open (currently sponsored by Plava laguna) is a men's ATP tennis tournament held in Umag, Croatia that is part of the 250 series of the ATP Tour. The tournament began in 1990 when it was part of Yugoslavia, and is the oldest tennis tournament in Croatia. It began as the Yugoslav Open and has been played every year since. It is played on outdoor red clay courts. Carlos Moyá has won the tournament a record five times; he also holds the record for the most consecutive wins at three. His most recent win was in 2007. Zagreb Indoors
The Zagreb Indoors (currently sponsored by PBZ) was a men's tennis event on the ATP Tour held in the Croatian capital of Zagreb, other than in 1998 when it was held in Split. From 1996-1998 the tournament was named the Croatian Indoors. From 2009 until 2015, it was a part of the ATP 250 Series and offered 250 ranking points. The tournament was played on a fast and hard indoor surface (RuKort) and featured both men's singles and men's doubles tournament. The Zagreb Indoors was held for the first time in nine years in 2006. The tournament was an ATP International Series tournament from 2006 to 2008. Previously it had been an ATP World Series event from 1996 to 1997. Due to financial difficulties the tournament was not held in 2016 and was replaced on the ATP calendar by the Sofia Open. Ivo Karlović (; born 28 February 1979) is a Croatian former professional tennis player. His height of 211 cm (6 ft 11 in) makes him the joint-tallest ranked tennis player in history (along with Reilly Opelka). He won eight ATP Tour singles titles between 2007 and 2016. He was a serve-and-volleyer and officially held the record for the fastest serve recorded in professional tennis, measured at 251 km/h (156 mph), before being officially surpassed by John Isner in 2016. He was considered one of the best servers on tour, and held the record for career aces from 1991 onwards with 13,728 (not including Davis Cup) before the record was broken by Isner on July 1 2022.
