Goran Cvijanović
Goran Cvijanović (born 9 September 1986) is a Slovenian professional football manager and former player who played as a midfielder. He is currently in charge of the Slovenia under-17 team. International career Cvijanović made his debut for Slovenia in an October 2012 World Cup qualification match against Cyprus, coming on as a 84th-minute substitute for Josip Iličić. Personal life Cvijanović spent his early years in Nova Gorica, and moved to Šempeter pri Gorici when he was seven years old. His cousin Miroslav Cvijanović is also a former footballer. Šempeter Pri Gorici
Šempeter pri Gorici (, also generally known simply as ''Šempeter''; ) is a town and the administrative seat of the Municipality of Šempeter-Vrtojba in the Slovene Littoral region of Slovenia. There is a border crossing into the Italian town of Gorizia. Through most of its history, it was linked to the town of Gorizia (), which is now in Italy, whence also its name, literally meaning 'St. Peter near Gorizia'. Josip Iličić
Josip Iličić (; born 29 January 1988) is a Slovenian professional Association footballer, footballer who plays for FC Koper, Koper. Primarily an attacking midfielder, he can also play as a winger (association football), winger or forward (association football), forward. Iličić began his professional career with Slovenian club SC Bonifika, Bonifika, later also playing for NK Interblock, Interblock and NK Maribor, Maribor in his home country, before moving to Italy in 2010 to join US Città di Palermo, Palermo. In 2013, he signed for ACF Fiorentina, Fiorentina, and subsequently for Atalanta BC, Atalanta in 2017. After spending twelve years in Italy, Iličić returned to Maribor in 2022. The Slovenian Football Cup (, ) is the top knockout tournament of Slovenian football and the second most important football competition in Slovenia after the Slovenian PrvaLiga championship. The cup was established in 1991 following the breakup of Yugoslavia. Since 2020, it has been known as Pokal Pivovarna Union after its headline sponsor, the Union Brewery. The Slovenian PrvaLiga (, ), currently named Prva liga Telemach due to sponsorship reasons, also known by the abbreviation 1. SNL, is the top level of the Slovenian football league system. Contested by ten clubs, it operates on a system of promotion and relegation with the Slovenian Second League (2. SNL). Seasons typically run from July to May with each team playing 36 matches. The competition was founded in 1991, after Slovenia became an independent country.
