Xavier Moon
Xavier Moon (born January 2, 1995) is an American professional basketball player for Zenit Saint Petersburg of the VTB United League. He played college basketball for Northwest Florida State and Morehead State. The nephew of former NBA basketball player Jamario Moon, he won CEBL Player of the Year three years in a row from 2019 to 2021 while playing for the Edmonton Stingers. High school career Moon grew up in Goodwater, Alabama and began playing organized basketball in seventh grade. He attended Central Coosa High School where he played on the junior varsity team as a freshman before playing three years on varsity. As a senior, he led Alabama in scoring with 35 points per game. In the tournament semifinal, he scored 48 points, followed by 50 points in the championship game. Jamario Raman Moon (born June 13, 1980) is an American former professional basketball player. He played college basketball for one season at Meridian Community College and began his professional career with teams in the United States Basketball League and NBA Development League, the Harlem Globetrotters, and Mexican basketball team Fuerza Regia before signing with the Toronto Raptors in 2007. Hartley Moon
Colonel Hartley Allen Moon (February 5, 1877 – April 9, 1946) was the adjutant general of Alabama from 1919 to 1927. Moon was born in Goodwater, Alabama. At the rank of major, Moon commanded the US Infantry 167th 2nd Battalion during World War I; they arrived in France in late 1917 and saw action in the Lorraine region in early 1918. Moon was wounded in the action. After the war, he helped World War I flying ace James Meissner in the transformation of the Birmingham Flying Club into the 135th Observation Squadron, which was assigned to the state of Alabama in 1922. In the late 1920s, he had a house built in the Cloverdale-Idlewild neighborhood of Montgomery, a house which was later inhabited by Wayne Greenhaw. Robert Daniel Carmichael
Robert Daniel Carmichael (March 1, 1879 – May 2, 1967) was an American mathematician. Biography Carmichael was born in Goodwater, Alabama. He attended Lineville College, briefly, and he earned his bachelor's degree in 1898, while he was studying towards his Ph.D. degree at Princeton University. Carmichael completed the requirements for his Ph.D. in mathematics in 1911. Carmichael's Ph.D. research in mathematics was done under the guidance of the noted American mathematician G. David Birkhoff, and it is considered to be the first significant American contribution to the knowledge of differential equations in mathematics. Carmichael next taught at Indiana University from 1911 to 1915. Then he moved on to the University of Illinois, where he remained from 1915 until his retirement in 1947.
