Goodland, Florida
Goodland is a census-designated place (CDP) in Collier County, Florida, United States. The population was 312 at the 2020 census, up from 267 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Naples–Marco Island Metropolitan Statistical Area. Located on the southeast portion of Marco Island, it is the closest community to Cape Romano, the southern tip of a nearby island that was the official site of the Florida landfall of Hurricane Wilma. Goodland is home to several seafood restaurants and some charter boat operators. Geography Goodland is located in southwestern Collier County at . The beachfront city of Marco Island is to the west. Goodland Municipal Airport (Renner Field) is two miles north of Goodland, in Sherman County, Kansas, United States. Facilities The airport covers at an elevation of 3,658 feet (1,115 m). It has three runways: 12/30 is 5,499 by 100 feet (1,676 x 30 m) concrete; 5/23 is 4,001 by 75 feet (1,220 x 23 m) asphalt; 17/35 is 1,754 by 40 feet (549 x 12 m) turf. In the year ending September 18, 2022, the airport had 43,000 aircraft operations, average 118 per day: 97% general aviation, 1% air taxi and 1% military. 21 aircraft were then based at the airport: 19 single-engine and 2 multi-engine. Goodland Academy is a boarding school located in Choctaw County, Oklahoma, southwest of Hugo in southeastern Oklahoma, U.S.. Benton County Wind Farm
The Benton County Wind Farm (also called Goodland I) consists of 87 model sl/sle Gen4 GE 1.5 MW wind turbines near Earl Park, Indiana in northern Benton County, Indiana. The farm's nameplate capacity is 130.5 MW. The farm was developed by Orion Energy Group, LLC (Oakland, CA) and Vision Energy, LLC (Cincinnati, OH) beginning in 2003. It began commercial operation in April 2008. At the time of its construction, it was Indiana's only commercial-scale wind farm. Duke Energy purchases electricity from the wind farm and sells it to customers through its GoGreen program. In August 2006, Duke Energy Indiana finalized its agreement to buy the output of 54 of the wind farm's 87 wind turbines for 20 years. This was the first significant long-term wind power purchase agreement in Indiana. The remaining 33 wind turbines in the wind farm sell their electricity to Duke and Vectren.
