Good Feeling (Paul Carrack Album)
''Good Feeling'' is the fourteenth solo studio album by the English singer-songwriter Paul Carrack. It was originally released in 2012 on Carrack's own Carrack-UK label and peaked at number 46 on the UK Albums Chart, making ''Good Feeling'' Carrack's highest charting solo album to that time. Carrack originally recorded the song "From Now On" on his 1982 LP '' Suburban Voodoo''; the version on ''Good Feeling'' is an entirely new recording. Reception AllMusic's Stephen Thomas Erlewine calls ''Good Feeling'' "a bright, bouncing collection of blue-eyed soul. Perhaps the production is just a shade too clean -- it not only has a bright gloss but not a note is out of place, everybody is in the pocket -- but there's also a genuine warmth to Carrack's music, derived not just from his honeyed voice but from the precision of his seasoned backing band." Good Feeling (Travis Album)
''Good Feeling'' is the debut studio album by the Scottish rock band Travis. The album was released on 8 September 1997, on Independiente Records. All four singles released from the album reached the UK Top 40 (with ''Tied To The 90s'' making to Top 30). Background and release Once set up in London, the band spent between nine months and a year recording new songs. The band played their first London show at the Dublin Castle pub in Camden. With around twenty good songs ready, they then approached managers Colin Lester and Ian McAndrew of Wildlife Entertainment, who then introduced the band to Andy MacDonald, owner of Go! Discs Records and founder of Independiente Records. The band was signed to MacDonald personally, not to the label—if MacDonald ever leaves the Sony-financed label Independiente Records, the band goes with him (commonly referred to in the industry as a "golden handcuffs" clause). The album itself has a much more upbeat and 'rockier' sound than their subseq ... [...More Info...]       [...Related Items...]     OR:     [Wikipedia]   [Google]   [Baidu]   |

Era Of Good Feelings
The Era of Good Feelings marked a period in the political history of the United States that reflected a sense of national purpose and a desire for unity among Americans in the aftermath of the War of 1812. The era saw the collapse of the Federalist Party and an end to the bitter partisan disputes between it and the dominant Democratic-Republican Party during the First Party System. President James Monroe strove to downplay partisan affiliation in making his nominations, with the ultimate goal of national unity and eliminating political parties altogether from national politics. The period is so closely associated with Monroe's presidency (1817–1825) and his administrative goals that his name and the era are virtually synonymous. During and after the 1824 presidential election, the Democratic-Republican Party split between supporters and opponents of Jacksonian Democracy, leading to the Second Party System. Historians often designate the era as one of good feelings wit ... [...More Info...]       [...Related Items...]     OR:     [Wikipedia]   [Google]   [Baidu]   |
