Gonçalo Carvalho
Gonçalo Carvalho (born 1 April 1982 in Lisbon, Portugal) is a Portuguese Olympic dressage rider. Representing Portugal, he competed at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London where he finished 16th in the individual competition. He also competed at the 2010 World Equestrian Games and at three European Dressage Championships (in 2011, 2013 and 2015). Equestrian At The 2012 Summer Olympics – Individual Dressage
The individual dressage in equestrian at the 2012 Olympic Games in London was held at Greenwich Park from 2 to 9 August. Great Britain's Charlotte Dujardin won the gold medal and Laura Bechtolsheimer the bronze. The silver was won by Adelinde Cornelissen of the Netherlands. Competition format The team and individual dressage competitions used the same results. Dressage had three phases, with the last being used only for the individual event. The first phase was the Grand Prix. Individuals advanced to the second phase, the Grand Prix Special, if they were on one of the top seven teams or were one of the top 11 remaining competitors. 2010 FEI World Equestrian Games
The 2010 FEI World Equestrian Games (officially the 2010 Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games) were held at the Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington, Kentucky, U.S. from September 25 to October 10, 2010. This was the sixth edition of the games, which are held every four years and run by the International Federation for Equestrian Sports (FEI). For the first time, Para-equestrian events were added in the program. This was also the first time the games were hosted by a city outside of Europe, and also the first time that all events at the games were held at a single site. European Dressage Championships
The European Dressage Championships are the European championships for the equestrian discipline of dressage. They are held every two years in odd-numbered years. Gold, silver, and bronze medals are awarded in both individual and team competitions. There are also championships held for juniors, young riders, and ponies. Since 2015, the competition has shared a site and branding with vaulting, reining, jumping, and driving events. For sponsorship reasons, eventing is not included, as it is part of the FEI European Championships, echoing the combined World Equestrian Games concept. The 2013 European Dressage Championship, known for sponsorship reasons as the ''Blue Hors European Dressage Championship'' was held between August 21 and August 25, 2013 in Herning, Denmark.
