Gonçalo Matias Ramos (; born 20 June 2001) is a Portuguese professional association football, footballer who plays as a forward (association football), striker for club Paris Saint-Germain F.C., Paris Saint-Germain and the Portugal national football team, Portugal national team. Born in Olhão, Ramos came through S.L. Benfica, Benfica's youth academy. He began playing for S.L. Benfica B, Benfica B in 2019 and was promoted to the first team a year later. Gonçalo Bernardo Inácio (; born 25 August 2001) is a Portuguese professional footballer who plays as a centre-back for Primeira Liga club Sporting CP and the Portugal national team. Coming through Sporting CP's youth academy, he made his first-team debut in 2020. He went on to win three Primeira Liga titles with the club in the 2020–21, 2023–24 and 2024–25 seasons (being named to the 2024 and 2025 Teams of the Year), as well as back-to-back Taças da Liga in 2021 and 2022. Gonçalo Jardim Brandão (born 9 October 1986) is a Portuguese former professional footballer. Mainly a central defender, he also appeared as a left-back. Club career Belenenses A product of hometown C.F. Os Belenenses' academy, Lisbon-born Brandão scored in his second match in the Primeira Liga aged 17, against FC Porto in a 1–4 home loss on 18 October 2003 when he still had not finished his youth career. Gonçalo Nicau (born 3 July 1982) is a Portuguese former professional tennis player who competed in the ITF Men's Circuit. He achieved his highest singles ranking of 531 in the world by the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) in February 2007. Though he did not enter a singles event in the ATP Challenger Tour, Nicau did play in the doubles event at the 2006 Estoril Open and was selected for two Davis Cup ties in 2006. Career Junior years Nicau had a brief junior career. He made his main draw debut in August 1998 at the Grade 5 Junior Tennis Cup in Vila do Conde. Gonçalo Uva (born 3 October 1984 in Lisbon) is a former Portuguese rugby union player. He played as a lock. He played for Montpellier Hérault RC and RC Narbonne, in French rugby, the Top 14. Gonçalo Pereira
Gonçalo (Gonçalves) Pereira (c.1280–1348) was a Portuguese prelate of the Catholic Church who served as the archbishop of Braga from 1326 until 1349. Pereira was a son of Gonçalo Pires Pereira, who held the titles of count of the Kingdom of Portugal and knight commander of the Sovereign Military Order of Malta. After being raised at the court of King Denis of Portugal, he studied law at the University of Salamanca, where he met Teresa Peres Vilarinho (1285-?). Their son, Álvaro Gonçalves Pereira (c. 1310 - c. 1379), was the father of Constable Nuno Álvares Pereira, an ancestor of the House of Braganza. Gonçalo De Amarante
Gundisalvus of Amarante, OP (; 1187 – 10 January 1259) was a Portuguese Catholic priest in the Order of Preachers. He joined the order as a hermit after his return from a long pilgrimage that took him to both Rome and Jerusalem. Pope Pius IV beatified him in 1561. Life Gundisalvus was born in 1187 in Portugal to nobles. It was said at his baptism he fixed his intense gaze upon the crucifix as he was being carried to the baptismal font. He was devoted to Jesus Christ in his childhood and decided to become a priest. The Archbishop of Braga ordained Gundisalvus and the latter distributed his great wealth to his nephews. Gundisalvus worked in the parish of Saint Paio de Vizela and obtained leave so as to go to visit Rome and Jerusalem while leaving his nephew, also a priest, in charge of the parish.
