''Golub'' is a 1988 Documentary film, documentary film, produced by Kartemquin Films, that examines the life and work of controversial painter, Leon Golub. Inspired by war, political oppression and the fight for Free Speech, Golub and his paintings are famous for their depictions of extreme violence. Also featured prominently in the film is his wife, anti-war feminist and artist, Nancy Spero. The documentary tracks Golub from starting with a blank canvas to a touring North American exhibition and eventually to an exhibition in Northern Ireland. In 2001, the filmmakers revisited Leon Golub in his final years, and in 2004 released the documentary, ''Golub: Late Works Are The Catastrophes''. With his previous work being more relevant than ever in the aftermath of September 11, Golub's later paintings have become less graphic and violent. Golub-Dobrzyń () is a town in north-central Poland, located on the Drwęca. It is the capital of Golub-Dobrzyń County in the Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship and has a population of 13,060. __NOTOC__ Golub-Dobrzyń County () is a unit of territorial administration and local government (powiat) in Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship, north-central Poland. It came into being on January 1, 1999, as a result of the Polish local government reforms passed in 1998. Its administrative seat and largest town is the town of Golub-Dobrzyń, which lies east of Toruń and east of Bydgoszcz. The only other town in the county is Kowalewo Pomorskie, lying north-west of Golub-Dobrzyń. The county covers an area of . Mount Golub
Mount Golub is a prominent mountain summit located in the Chilkat Range of the Saint Elias Mountains, in the U.S. state of Alaska. This peak is situated northwest of Juneau, and west of Lynn Canal, on land managed by Tongass National Forest. Although modest in elevation, relief is significant since Mount Golub rises above tidewater in less than two miles. The mountain's name was officially adopted in 1972 by the U.S. Board on Geographic Names to commemorate Harvey Golub (1930–1971), member of the 1968 first ascent party. Other members of the party were Richard Folta, Delbert Carnes, and Keith Hart. Hart submitted the name for consideration following the September 4, 1971, untimely death of Harvey Golub who perished in the Alaska Airlines Flight 1866 disaster.
