__NOTOC__ Gmina Łochów is an urban-rural gmina (administrative district) in Węgrów County, Masovian Voivodeship, in east-central Poland. Its seat is the town of Łochów, which lies approximately north-west of Węgrów and north-east of Warsaw. The gmina covers an area of , and as of 2006 its total population is 17,427 (out of which the population of Łochów amounts to 6,452, and the population of the rural part of the gmina is 10,975). Gmina
The gmina (Polish: , plural ''gminy'' ) is the basic unit of the administrative division of Poland, similar to a municipality. , there were 2,479 gminy throughout the country, encompassing over 43,000 villages. 940 gminy include cities and towns, with 322 among them constituting an independent urban gmina () consisting solely of a standalone town or one of the 107 cities, the latter governed by a city mayor (''prezydent miasta''). The gmina has been the basic unit of territorial division in Poland since 1974, when it replaced the smaller gromada (cluster). Three or more gminy make up a higher level unit called a powiat, except for those holding the status of a city with powiat rights. Each and every powiat has the seat in a city or town, in the latter case either an urban gmina or a part of an urban-rural one. Kamionna, Węgrów County
Kamionna is a village in the administrative district of Gmina Łochów, within Węgrów County, Masovian Voivodeship, in east-central Poland. History The village was founded in the 15th century. It was initially named ''Kamienmost'', then ''Kamionolas'' from 1509, and ''Kamionna'' from the 18th century. It was a private village of szlachta, Polish nobility, including the Targowski/Łochowski, Godlewski, and Kuszell families. In the 1480s, nobleman Mikołaj Targowski founded the local Catholic church and parish of the Immaculate Conception of Mary. A second church of the Ten Thousand Martyrs was founded in 1576 by Jan Łochowski, but it was destroyed by the Swedish invasion of Poland (1701–1706), invading Swedes in 1704. Afterwards, in the same year, Stanisław Godlewski founded a new church in the village. Kamionna was annexed by Habsburg monarchy, Austria in the Third Partition of Poland in 1795.
