__NOTOC__ Gmina Skórzec is a rural gmina (administrative district) in Siedlce County, Masovian Voivodeship, in east-central Poland. Its seat is the village of Skórzec, Masovian Voivodeship, Skórzec, which lies approximately 13 kilometres (8 mi) south-west of Siedlce and 77 km (48 mi) south-east of Warsaw. The gmina covers an area of , and as of 2006 its total population is 7,134 (7,696 in 2014). The gmina (Polish: , plural ''gminy'' ) is the basic unit of the administrative division of Poland, similar to a municipality. , there were 2,479 gminy throughout the country, encompassing over 43,000 villages. 940 gminy include cities and towns, with 322 among them constituting an independent urban gmina () consisting solely of a standalone town or one of the 107 cities, the latter governed by a city mayor (''prezydent miasta''). The gmina has been the basic unit of territorial division in Poland since 1974, when it replaced the smaller gromada (cluster).
