__NOTOC__ Gmina Pieńsk is an urban-rural gmina (administrative district) in Zgorzelec County, Lower Silesian Voivodeship, in south-western Poland, on the Germany, German border. Its seat is the town of Pieńsk, which lies approximately north of Zgorzelec, and west of the regional capital Wrocław. The gmina covers an area of , and as of 2019 its total population is 9,068. Neighbouring gminas Gmina Pieńsk is bordered by the gminas of Gmina Lubań, Lubań, Gmina Nowogrodziec, Nowogrodziec, Gmina Węgliniec, Węgliniec and Gmina Zgorzelec, Zgorzelec. It also borders Germany. Rothenburg, Oberlausitz
Rothenburg/Oberlausitz (; , ; ) is a small Lusatian town in eastern Saxony, in eastern Germany, on the Neisse river on the Germany–Poland border. It has a population of 4,405 (2020). History The town was first mentioned in 1268. In 1319, it became a part of the Duchy of Jawor, the southwesternmost duchy of fragmented Piast-ruled Poland. In 1329, it passed to the Czech (Bohemian) Crown Lands. Knife and cloth making flourished in the 14th century. A trade route was established that run through the town between Bohemia proper and Bohemian-ruled Brandenburg. Heřmanice () is a municipality and village in Liberec District in the Liberec Region of the Czech Republic. It has about 300 inhabitants. Etymology The original German name of the village was ''Hermannsdorff'', meaning "Herman's village". It was gradually distorted into ''Hermsdorf''. The Czech name was created by translation.
