Gloria Valerín Rodríguez
Gloria Valerín Rodríguez is a Costa Rican lawyer, former deputy, vice-presidential candidate, and director of technical services for the Legislative Assembly of Costa Rica. Valerín is a feminist and human rights campaigner. Early life Valerín was born on 9 April 1955 in Sardinal de Carrillo. In 1957, her family moved to the Hatillo District of San José. She claims that being born to a family with four brothers produced her feminist beliefs. Valerín became an atheist when she was twelve years old. As a young woman, she followed her grandfather Luis Valerín by joining the Popular Vanguard Party, Costa Rica's main communist party. Johnny Araya Monge
Johnny Francisco Araya Monge (born 29 April 1957) is a Costa Rican politician. He was the mayor of the country's capital San José from 1998 to 2013 and again from 2016 to 2024. He was also the co-president of the United Cities and Local Governments (UCLG) from 2010 to 2013. He is a member of the National Liberation Party (PLN) and was a presidential candidate in the 2014 election. Early life Johnny Araya was born in 1957. Ottón Solís
Ottón Solís Fallas (born 31 May 1954 near Pérez Zeledón) is a Costa Rican politician. He graduated with a Bachelor of Economics from the University of Costa Rica in 1976 and gained a master's degree in economics from the University of Manchester in 1978. He is currently serving his second term as congressman. He was a founding member of the Citizens' Action Party (PAC for its Spanish initials) and ran as its three-time presidential candidate. As an academic, he has taught at several universities in the United States and Costa Rica.
