Gintarė Bražaitė
Gintarė Bražaitė (born 19 August 1992) is a Lithuanian Olympian weightlifter and coach. She multiple times broke Lithuanian women's national record. Bražaitė competed at the 2019 World Weightlifting Championships, where she finished in 13th place. Olympic Weightlifting
Weightlifting (often known as Olympic weightlifting) is a competitive strength athletics, strength sport in which athletes compete in lifting a barbell loaded with weight plates from the ground to overhead, with the aim of successfully lifting the heaviest weights. Athletes compete in two specific ways of lifting the barbell overhead. The ''Snatch (weightlifting), snatch'' is a wide-grip lift, in which the weighted barbell is lifted overhead in one motion. The ''clean and jerk'' is a combination lift, in which the weight is first taken from the ground to the front of the shoulders (the ''clean''), and then from the shoulders to over the head (the ''jerk''). The sport formerly included a third lift/event known as clean and press. Each weightlifter gets three attempts at both the snatch and the clean and jerk, with the snatch attempted first. European Junior and U23 Weightlifting Championships ( European U23 and U20 Weightlifting Championships) is an annual event organised by the European Weightlifting Federation (EWF) for Under 23 and under 20 Weightlifters in Europe. European Championships in junior category were held from 1973 under the name European Junior Weightlifting Championships (U20). In 2009 the competitions were held in two cities, European Junior Weightlifting Championships in Landskrona and the new European U23 Weightlifting Championships in Wladyslawowo. 2019 World Weightlifting Championships
The 2019 World Weightlifting Championships was held in Pattaya, Thailand from 18 to 27 September 2019. On September 12, Egypt was banned from competing at these Championships due to multiple doping offenses. The host nation, Thailand, was also banned from the Championships for the same reason.
