Giftige Løgner
''Giftige løgner'' (Lethal Lies or Poisonous Lies) is a Norwegian film from 1992 directed by Martin Asphaug. It is based on Ingvar Ambjørnsen's novel of the same name, which is part of the series ''Pelle og Proffen''. The film is mostly set in Kragerø. Plot Lena, Pelle's girlfriend, has spent 16 months in a rehab clinic and now lives in the fictional town of Steinsund in Southern Norway. One weekend, Pelle and Proffen make a surprise visit, which results in complications between Pelle and Lena. At the same time, Proffen falls in love with Gerd, who is active in the local Nature and Youth club. They are working hard to find out who is behind the pollution of the beautiful Steinsund Fjord. To help Gerd, Proffen brings Pelle with him, and together they decide to put the villains behind bars. Martin Asphaug
Martin Asphaug (born 28 April 1950) is a film director and screenwriter from Trondheim, Norway. With a background in writing and directing short films, industry documentaries and PSAs, Asphaug made his feature film debut with the award-winning 1989 film, ''A Handful of Time''. Since 1992 Asphaug has primarily worked in Sweden, in several cases with SVT, directing episodes of ''Rederiet'' and the first season of ''Skärgårdsdoktorn''. Since 2000, Asphaug has worked on several projects from author Håkan Nesser, the first films of the ''Van Veeteren'' series (adaptations of '' The Mind's Eye'', '' The Return'' and ''Woman with Birthmark'') and the 1962 period film ''Kim Novak badade aldrig i Genesarets sjö'' of 2005. In 2007 he directed the first two films of the ''Irene Huss'' series by Helene Tursten. He lives near Ystad in Skåne. Set in Oslo in the late eighties, it is based on a book by Ingvar Ambjørnsen from his series '' Pelle og Proffen''. It was the highest-grossing Norwegian film of the year. Brit Elisabeth Haagensli (born 24 August 1953) is a Norwegian actress and singer, known from theatre and revue productions, television and several films. Haagensli grew up in Asker. Since 1981, she has used the most of her summers to do theatre productions, and many of these on the summer revue in Stavern. Haagensli is probably most known for her role in ''Fredrikssons fabrikk'', where she appeared with, among others, Elsa Lystad, Anne Marie Ottersen and the late Aud Schønemann.
