The league changed its name from Divizia B just before the start of the 2006–07 Liga II, 2006–07 football season. 	1952 Cupa României The 1952 Cupa României was the 15th edition of Romania's most prestigious Association football, football Single-elimination tournament, cup competition. The title was won by FC Steaua București, CCA București against FC Petrolul Ploiești, Flacăra Ploieşti. Format The competition is an annual Single-elimination tournament, knockout tournament. In the first round proper, two pots were made, first pot with Divizia A teams and other teams till 16 and the second pot with the rest of teams qualified in this phase.
