Gerardo Rubén Morales
Gerardo Rubén Morales (born 18 July 1959) is an Argentine politician, former Governor of Jujuy Province (2015–2023) and Secretary General of the Radical Civic Union. He was a member of the Argentine Senate representing Jujuy Province, elected for the Front of Jujuy. He was a candidate for Vice President of Argentina on Roberto Lavagna's UNA ticket in the 2007 elections. From 2015 to 2023, he was Governor of Jujuy, the first non-Peronist elected to the post since the restoration of democracy. Early life and career Morales was born in Salta Province. He worked on the Ferrocarril General Manuel Belgrano railway as a waiter at age 18, and was promoted to the post of administrator. He enrolled at the National University of Jujuy, where he earned a degree in Accountancy. Morales was later appointed Director of Liquidations at the Provincial Insurance Institute. Radical Civic Union
The Radical Civic Union (, UCR) is a major political party in Argentina. It has reached the national government on ten occasions, making it one of the most historically important parties in the country. Ideologically, the party has stood for radicalism, secularism and universal suffrage. Especially during the 1970s and 1980s, it was perceived as a strong advocate for human rights. Its factions however, have been more heterogeneous, ranging from conservative liberalism to social democracy. Founded in 1891 by Leandro N. Raúl Alfonsín
Raúl Ricardo Alfonsín (; 12 March 1927 – 31 March 2009) was an Argentine lawyer and statesman who served as President of Argentina from 10 December 1983 to 8 July 1989. He was the first democratically elected president after the 7-years National Reorganization Process. The Legislature of Jujuy Province () is the unicameral legislative branch, legislative body of Jujuy Province, in Argentina. It convenes in the provincial capital, San Salvador de Jujuy. It comprises 48 legislators elected in a single multi-member province-wide district through proportional representation using the D'Hondt method. General Manuel Belgrano Railway
The General Manuel Belgrano Railway (FCGMB) (Spanish: Ferrocarril General Manuel Belgrano), named after the Argentine politician and military leader Manuel Belgrano, is a railway and the longest of the Argentine system.
