Georgia Avenue–Maryland Line
The Georgia Avenue–Maryland Line, designated Route Y2, Y7, Y8, is a daily bus route operated by the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority between Silver Spring station (Maryland), Silver Spring station of the Red Line (Washington Metro), Red Line of the Washington Metro and MedStar Montgomery Medical Center in Olney, Maryland, Olney (Y2, Y8) or the Georgia Ave – ICC Park & Ride Lot (Y7). The line operates every 20 minutes during the weekday peak hour and weekend late nights, 30 minutes all other times on weekdays, and 40–45 minutes on weekends. Y2 trips are roughly 55 minutes long, Y7 trips are roughly 62 minutes long, and Y8 trips are roughly 70 minutes long. Wheaton Station (Washington Metro)
Wheaton station is a Washington Metro station in Montgomery County, Maryland on the Red Line. The station serves the suburb of Wheaton, and is located at the intersection of Georgia Avenue (Maryland Route 97) and Reedie Drive. The station contains escalators, which are the longest set of single-span escalators in the Western Hemisphere. Service at Wheaton began on September 22, 1990, and it was the northeastern end of the Red Line for nearly eight years, until Glenmont opened in July 1998. On June 1, 2024, all Red Line stations north of Fort Totten, including this one were closed to allow the Maryland Transit Authority to work on the upcoming Purple Line. Takoma re-opened on June 29 while the rest of the stations re-opened on September 1st, 2024. Benning Road-H Street Limited Line
The H Street Express, designated Route D2X, is a limited stop Metrobus bus route operated by the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority between Capitol Heights station, which is served by the Blue and Silver lines of the Washington Metro, and Gallery Place station, which is served by the Red, Green and Yellow lines of the Washington Metro. The line operates every 15-16 minutes at all times on weekdays only. Trips are roughly 50 minutes long. This line provided additional service along the H Street corridor supplementing route D20. Background Route D2X operated on weekdays only between Capitol Heights station and Gallery Place station. This route provided additional service to route D20 along H Street and Benning Road. The Colesville Road Line, designated as the Colesville Road–Burtonsville Line on Route M52, and Colesville Road–Greencastle Line on Route M54, are daily bus routes operated by the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority between Burtonsville Crossing Park & Ride lot (M52) and Greencastle Park & Ride Lot (M54), and Silver Spring station (Maryland), Silver Spring station of the Red Line (Washington Metro), Red Line of the Washington Metro. The line operates every 20-30 minutes at all times. Both trips are roughly 60 minutes long. These new routes replaced the Silver Spring–Fairland Line routes Z6 and Z8 as part of WMATA's Better Bus Network Redesign on June 29, 2025.
