George–Little Rock Senior High School is a rural public high school in George, Iowa. It is a part of the George–Little Rock Community School District, which formed on July 1, 2003, by the merger of the George and Little Rock school districts. The school serves both George and Little Rock. The building houses the district headquarters. George and Little Rock began sharing sports in 1987. Siouxland Conference
The Siouxland Conference is a ten team high school athletic conference in the northwest corner of Iowa. Historically it consisted of schools ranging from the smallest class (1A) to the third largest class (3A), although all member schools currently belong to Class 2A or 3A. The conference is known for its prominence in small school basketball. George–Little Rock Community School District (G-LR) is a rural public school district headquartered at George–Little Rock Senior High School in George, Iowa. The district is mostly in Lyon County, with sections in Osceola and Sioux counties. In addition to George, it serves Little Rock. History The district formed on July 1, 2003, by the merger of the George and Little Rock school districts. Steve Barber, formerly principal of Spencer Middle School in the Spencer Community School District, began serving as superintendent of G-LR in 2013.
