Georges-Henri Bousquet (21 June 1900 in Meudon – 23 January 1978 in Latresne) was a 20th-century French jurist, economist and Islamologist. He was a professor of law at the Faculty of Law of the University of Algiers where he was a specialist in the sociology of North Africa (Berbers, Islam). He is also known for his translation work of the great Muslim authors, Al-Ghazali, a theologian who died in 1111 and Tunisian historian Ibn Khaldun (1332–1406). He was known as a polyglot, spoke several European languages (Dutch, his second mother tongue, English, German, Italian, but also Spanish, Danish, Norwegian) and Eastern ones (Arabic, Malay). Georges-Henri Halphen
Georges-Henri Halphen (; 30 October 1844, Rouen – 23 May 1889, Versailles) was a French mathematician. He was known for his work in geometry, particularly in enumerative geometry and the singularity theory of algebraic curves, in algebraic geometry. He also worked on invariant theory and projective differential geometry. Biography He did his studies at École Polytechnique (X 1862), where he graduated in 1866. He continued his education at École d'Application de l'Artillerie et du Génie de Metz. As a lieutenant of Artillery he was sent Auxonne first and then to Strasbourg. In 1872, Halphen settled in Paris, where he became a lecturer at the École Polytechnique and began his scientific studies. He completed his dissertation in 1878. Georges-Henri Lévesque (February 16, 1903 – January 15, 2000) was a Canadian Dominican priest and sociologist and a liberal figure during the conservative Duplessis era in Quebec. Biography Born in Roberval, Quebec, the son of Georges Lévesque and Laura Richard, he was ordained into the priesthood in 1928. He studied philosophy and theology at the Dominican College in Ottawa and social sciences at the School of Social Sciences of the Université Catholique de Lille (France). Lévesque was a professor at the Faculty of Social Sciences of Université de Montréal from 1935 until 1938 and a professor of social philosophy at Laval University from 1936 until 1962. Georges-Henri Pingusson (July 26, 1894 – October 22, 1978) was a French architect. Biography Georges-Henri Pingusson was born 1894 in Clermont-Ferrand. 1920-1925 he studied architecture at the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris. He built hotel ''Latitude 43'' and several villas in the south of France. 1936 he greatly expanded Villa Ternisien in Paris, which had been designed by Pierre Jeanneret and Le Corbusier just nine years before and was almost completely demolished in the process. 1945-1950 Pingusson worked on a master plan for the reconstruction of Saarbrücken based on the ideals of the Athens Charter. His plan was accepted by the city council, but it was never executed. His design for the French embassy was executed after he had left the city.
