Genk Body
Genk () is a municipality and city located in the Belgian province of Limburg near Hasselt. The municipality comprises only the town of Genk itself. It is one of the most important industrial towns in Flanders, located on the Albert Canal, between Antwerp and Liège. History Celtic and medieval origins Genk probably originated as a Celtic village, and was converted to Christianity in the 10th century. The remains of a little wooden church dating from that period were found in the area. The first mention of Genk as ''Geneche'' can be found in a document dating from 1108, ceding the territory to the Abbey of Rolduc. The Ford Galaxy is a seven-seater car produced by Ford of Europe from June 1995 to April 2023. Considered in the motor industry to be a large multi-purpose vehicle (MPV), it was the first Ford-brand MPV produced and marketed outside of North America, the model line is currently in its third generation. Sharing its platform architecture with the Ford Mondeo, the Galaxy was developed alongside the Ford S-Max; the model line is slotted between the Connect and Custom variants of the Ford Tourneo/Transit model family. The Ford Mondeo is a Mid-size/large family car, large (D-segment) car manufactured and marketed by Ford Motor Company, Ford since 1993 across five generations for model years 1993-2022. As Ford self-declared world car, the Mondeo was intended to consolidate the European Ford Sierra, Sierra, the Ford Telstar, Telstar in Asia and Australia, and the Ford Tempo, Tempo/Mercury Topaz in North America. Genk Body & Assembly was a Ford Motor Company, Ford Car, automobile factory in Genk, Belgium, just over an hour to the west of the company's Ford of Europe, European head office in Cologne, Germany. As (municipality)
As () is a municipality located in the Belgian province of Limburg. On January 1, 2006, As had a total population of 7,497. The total area is 22.07 km2 which gives a population density of 340 inhabitants per km2. History In 1971 the municipality was formed by the merger of two villages - As and Niel-bij-As, which both lie on the Bosbeek brook on the Campine plateau between the rivers Demer and Meuse. The location of the settlements close to a water course in this dry region gave rise to the villages' names: "As" is a prehistoric name for water ("Aska") which first referred to the Bosbeek brook and later the village itself. Archaeological finds indicate an early prehistoric settlement, including objects made of flint dating from the earliest Stone Age. André Dumont (geologist)
André Hubert Dumont (15 February 180928 February 1857) was a Belgian geologist. Dumont was born in Liège, Belgium. His first work was a masterly ''Mémoire'' on the geology of the province of Liège published in 1832. A few years later he became a professor of mineralogy and geology and afterwards Rector of the University of Liège. He subsequently turned his attention to the mineralogical and stratigraphical description of the geological formations in Belgium. The names given by him to many subdivisions of the Cretaceous and Tertiary have been adopted. This cites Memoir by Major-General J. E. Portlock in ''Address to Geol. Soc.'' (London, 1858). Cornelia Hubertina "Neel" Doff (27 January 1858 – 14 July 1942) was a writer of Dutch descent living and working in Belgium and mainly writing in French. She is one of the most important contributors to proletarian literature.
