Gayatri Gopichand
Gayatri Gopichand Pullela (born 4 March 2003) is an Indian badminton player and a member of the national team. She is the daughter of former shuttlers P. V. V. Lakshmi and Pullela Gopichand. She won the gold in the team event and the silver at the doubles event during the 2019 South Asian Games. Gopichand won the silver in the mixed team and bronze in the doubles event at the 2022 Commonwealth Games. She became the first Indian women's doubles player to make the semi-finals of All England Open, 21 years after her father's victory. BWF Awards are awards given by the Badminton World Federation to the top badminton players during a given season. Players of the Year From 1998 to 2007, this award was named Eddy Choong Player of the Year. Pairs of the Year Players' Player of the Year Rising Star of the Year This was awarded from 2008 to 2023 as the Most Promising Player of the Year. In 2024, it was renamed Rising Star of the Year. Badminton World Federation
The Badminton World Federation, aka BWF, is the international governing body for the sport of badminton approved by the International Olympic Committee. It was founded on 5 July 1934 as the International Badminton Federation with nine member nations: Canada, Denmark, England, France, Ireland, Netherlands, New Zealand, Scotland and Wales. In 1981, the IBF merged with the World Badminton Federation, and on 24 September 2006, at the Extraordinary General Meeting in Madrid, the name of the organization was changed to Badminton World Federation. Ashmita Chaliha
Ashmita Chaliha (born 18 October 1999) is an Indian badminton player. Born and brought up in Guwahati, she began playing badminton at the age of seven, and trained at the Assam Badminton Academy under Indonesian coach Edwin Iriawan and India's Suranjan Bhobora, she was also coached by Pullela Gopichand for the Asian Games. Chaliha was also a part of the national junior team that competed at the 2017 World and Asian Junior Championships. She has been selected to be part of the Indian team for the 2018 Asian Games in Indonesia. Chaliha won her first senior international title at the 2018 Dubai International Challenge in the women's singles event. She was the gold medalists at the 2019 South Asian Games in the women's singles and team events.
