Gastón Montero
Gastón Eduardo Montero (born 23 March 1986) is an Argentine professional footballer who plays as a left-back for Almirante Brown. Career Montero started his career with Primera División side Vélez Sarsfield. After five top-flight appearances for the club, Montero moved across the division in 2008 to Gimnasia y Esgrima. He participated in five fixtures in both the 2007–08 and 2008–09 campaigns. Montero departed midway through the latter, signing for Los Andes of Primera B Nacional. He scored on his debut for them, netting in a 3–2 victory over Defensa y Justicia on 13 February 2009. A further goal against Instituto arrived in eighteen total appearances. Montero split his time in 2009–10 with San Martín namesakes from San Juan and San Miguel de Tucumán. Primera Nacional (usually called simply Nacional B, (English "National B Division"), and known as Primera B Nacional until the 2019–20 season) is the second division of the Argentine football league system. The competition is made up of 38 teams. It is played by teams from all over the country. Clubs from Buenos Aires surroundings, as well as some from Santa Fe Province, are promoted from or relegated to the Primera B Metropolitana ("Metropolitan B Division") while for teams from the other provinces the Torneo Federal A ("Federal A Tournament") is the next level down. 2008–09 Argentine Primera División Season
The 2008-09 Primera División season was the 118th season of top-flight professional football in Argentina and the nineteenth season in which the Apertura and Clausura system is used. Boca Juniors won the Apertura championship for their 29th national title after a three team playoff with Tigre and San Lorenzo. The Clausura championship was won by Vélez Sársfield for their 7th national title. Gimnasia y Esgrima (J) and San Martín (T) were relegated to the Primera B Nacional. Format The format for the 2008-09 season remained unchanged. The season was split into two tournaments called Apertura and Clausura. Each tournament was contested by the same 20 teams in a single round-robin format. The champions of each tournament is determined by points. The CONMEBOL Libertadores, also known as Copa Libertadores de América (), is an annual continental club football competition organized by CONMEBOL since 1960. The 2015 Argentine Primera B Nacional season was the 30th season of Argentine second division, with a total of 22 competing teams. It began 14 February and ended 14 November 2015. Although there was some use of a different name earlier in the year, the AFA has consistently used the Primera B Nacional moniker in releases of late. Competition format The league's format has changed from last season. This year there will be twenty-two teams which will play each other twice for a total of forty-two matches. In November 2014, the AFA announced two teams from this season will be promoted to the Primera División. The Argentine football league system include tournaments organised by the Argentine Football Association. Clubs affiliated to the body compete in the tournaments, which are split into categories or divisions. Rules establish a system of promotion and relegation, a process where teams are transferred between two divisions based on their performance for the completed season. Club Atlético Brown (mostly known as Brown de Adrogué) is an Argentine football club from the Adrogué neighborhood in Greater Buenos Aires. The team currently plays in Primera B Nacional, the second division of the Argentine football league system. History The club was formed in 1945 as a multidisciplinary sports club. Primera B Metropolitana is one of two professional leagues that form the third level of the Argentine football league system. The division is made up of 17 clubs mainly from the city of Buenos Aires and its metropolitan area, Greater Buenos Aires. Originally created as the second division, it became the third level after a restructuring of the system in 1985 that ended with the creation of Primera B Nacional, set as the second division since then.
