Gaspésie—Les Îles-de-la-Madeleine—Listuguj (formerly Gaspésie—Les Îles-de-la-Madeleine) is a federal electoral district (riding) in Quebec, Canada, that has been represented in the House of Commons since 2004. It was created by the Representation Order of 2003 from parts of Bonaventure—Gaspé—Îles-de-la-Madeleine—Pabok and Matapédia—Matane. Since 2025, its member of Parliament (MP) has been Alexis Deschênes of the Bloc Québécois (BQ). Geography The riding occupies the eastern part of the Gaspé Peninsula, as well as the Magdalen Islands. The Magdalen Islands, being in the Atlantic time zone, report election results one hour earlier than the rest of the riding, which in the Eastern Time Zone with the rest of Quebec. Carleton-sur-Mer () is the fifth largest town of the Gaspésie's south shore, in southeastern Quebec, Canada, located on Route 132, along Chaleur Bay. It is the seat of the Avignon Regional County Municipality. The town's territory includes the communities of Biron, Caps-de-Maria, Carleton, Robitaille, and Saint-Omer. The Gaspé Peninsula, also known as Gaspesia (, ; ), is a peninsula along the south shore of the St. Lawrence River that extends from the Matapedia Valley in Quebec, Canada, into the Gulf of St. Lawrence. Paspébiac
Paspébiac () is a city on Baie des Chaleurs in the Gaspésie region of eastern Quebec, Canada. The population was 3,033 as of the 2021 Canadian census. The town is noted for the '' Banc de Pêche de Paspébiac'', a large sandbar jutting out into the bay which has been designated a National Historic Site of Canada. Paspébiac was Quebec's first cod fishing port. The town also has Basque roots and an accent which is different from the rest of the region. Its name may come from the Mi'kmaq expression ''papgeg ipsigiag'', meaning "split flats" or "lagoon". Other sources indicate that the Mi'kmaq named it for ''Wospegiak'', which means "shining in the distance."
