Alt Empordà (; ; "Upper Empordà") is a Comarques of Catalonia, comarca (county) located in the Comarques Gironines, Girona region, in Catalonia, Spain. Catalonia is (as of 2018) divided into 947 Municipalities of Spain, municipalities. Each municipality typically represents one significant urban settlement, of any size from village to city, with its surrounding land. This is not always the case, though. Many municipalities have merged as a result of rural depopulation or simply for greater efficiency. Some large urban areas, for example Barcelona, consist of more than one municipality, each of which previously held a separate settlement. Vilaür
Vilaür () is a municipality in the ''comarca'' of Alt Empordà, Girona, Catalonia, Spain. The municipal term is to the right of the Fluvià river. There is a flat sector along the river and the rest is stuck by the mountains that mark the end of the Alt Empordà fluvial plain (140 m maximum altitude to the east). Sant Mori () is a municipality in the ''comarca'' of Alt Empordà, Girona, Catalonia, Spain.
