Garage Classical
''Garage Classical'' is the first album by British disc jockey DJ Spoony with Katie Chatburn and the Ignition Orchestra, released on 18 October 2019, on the Since 93 label. The album contains orchestral covers of classic UK garage tracks and features appearances from Paloma Faith, Sugababes, Lily Allen, Emeli Sandé, Gabrielle, So Solid Crew and more. The album was preceded by the release of two promotional singles, " Moving Too Fast" featuring Paloma Faith and "Sweet Like Chocolate" featuring Lily Allen. "Flowers" featuring Sugababes was the only single to chart, reaching No. 22 in Scotland and No. 26 on the UK Dance Singles Chart. DJ Spoony
John St John Joseph (born 25 June 1970), also known as Johnathan Joseph and professionally as DJ Spoony, is a British DJ, radio and television presenter. He is a member of the UK garage production trio, the Dreem Teem. Spoony also presents his BBC Radio 2 show ''The Good Groove''. Early career Joseph was born in Hackney, East London to British West Indian parents. As Spoony, his career started on London Underground (a leading pirate radio station in the mid-nineties), forming the trio the Dreem Teem with Mikee B (of Top Buzz) and Timmi Magic. With the Dreem Teem, he joined Kiss 100 in December 1997, followed by bringing UK garage nationally to BBC Radio 1 in January 2000. They went on to win a Sony Award in their first year. Mutya Buena
Rosa Isabel Mutya Buena (; born 21 May 1985) is an English singer and songwriter who rose to fame as a member of girl group Sugababes. With the Sugababes, Buena had four UK number-one singles, an additional six top-ten hits and three multi-platinum albums. After leaving the group in December 2005, she released her debut solo album, ''Real Girl'', in June 2007. The album's title track reached number two on the UK Singles Chart, while the album entered the top ten on the UK Albums Chart and was certified Gold by the BPI. "Fill Me In" is the debut solo single of British singer Craig David. It was released on 3 April 2000 as the lead single from his debut studio album, '' Born to Do It'' (2000). The song debuted at number one on the UK Singles Chart on 9 April 2000. "Fill Me In" was then released in the United States on 22 May 2001 and peaked at number 15 on the ''Billboard'' Hot 100. According to the Official Charts Company, it was the 10th-best-selling single of 2000 in the UK, having sold 573,000 copies. Daniel Bedingfield
Daniel John Bedingfield (born 3 December 1979) is a New Zealand-British singer, songwriter, record producer and actor. His debut studio album, '' Gotta Get thru This'' (2002), spawned three UK number ones, " Gotta Get thru This", " If You're Not the One" and " Never Gonna Leave Your Side", and sold 1.6 million copies in that country. Zak David Zilesnick (born ), better known professionally as Zak Abel, is an English singer, songwriter, and musician. He has also been an English Cadet national table tennis champion. He's known for several songs, such as "Be Kind", "Unstable", "Say Sumthin", and "Freedom (Kygo song), Freedom" (as a featured artist with Kygo), among others. "Gotta Get Thru This" is the debut single of New Zealand-British singer Daniel Bedingfield. The song was released in November 2001 as the lead single from his debut studio album of the same name (2002). The track, along with some others, was recorded in Bedingfield's bedroom with his PC and a microphone, using the music software Reason. The single went to number one on the UK Singles Chart in both 2001 and 2002, making it one of Bedingfield's most successful singles on the chart. Shanks & Bigfoot
Shanks & Bigfoot were a British duo of UK garage producers Steven Meade and Danny Langsman, known principally for their single " Sweet like Chocolate", which topped the UK Singles Chart in 1999. They were originally known as Doolally, recording the pirate anthem " Straight from the Heart" under this name in 1998. Upon its first release, "Straight from the Heart" peaked at number twenty on the UK chart. It was subsequently re-released in 1999 on the back of their chart success with "Sweet Like Chocolate", and reached number nine on the chart. Success The single " Sweet Like Chocolate" was a success even before commercial release, receiving months of club play before debuting at number one on the UK Singles Chart, where it remained for two weeks. Architechs
Architechs were a UK garage duo which consisted of brothers Paul and Ashley Akabah. They were originally a trio with producer Kevin Williams (K-Warren), who left the group in 1999. Biography Architechs gained international attention in 1998 after producing a UK garage remix of Brandy and Monica's " The Boy Is Mine", selling over 40,000 copies of the bootleg. In 1999, K-Warren left the group to pursue a solo career. Ashley and Paul went on to remix for numerous artists including All Saints, Gabrielle, Faithless, Garbage, Beenie Man, Inaya Day and Jamelia. They collaborated with singer Nana (pronounced "neyney"), who features on both of their commercially successful singles "Body Groove" and "Show Me the Money". Ceri Evans (Sunship)
Ceri Evans, better known as Sunship, is an English record producer, DJ, remixer and jazz pianist. Evans' musical career began in 1981 as a member of the jazz-funk band Swamp Children who released the album ''So Hot'' on Factory Records in 1982. He was an original member of acid jazz band the Brand New Heavies from 1985 until his departure from the group in 1992. Evans then entered into the dance music scene, producing and remixing under the alias Sunship. He released his MOBO Award-winning self-titled debut album in 1997, followed by the UK garage album ''Is This Real'' in 1998. Sweet Female Attitude are an electronic music act from Manchester, England. They are known for the UK garage remix by Sunship of their track "Flowers", written by Martin Green a.k.a. Shine MC and Mike Powell, which reached number two on the UK Singles Chart in April 2000. Biography Sweet Female Attitude began in 1996. Romina Johnson (born 28 November 1973) is a London-based R&B, soul and garage singer. She is perhaps best known in the UK for providing the lead vocals to the Artful Dodger song " Movin' Too Fast", a number 2 hit in early 2000.
