GameTap
GameTap was an online video game service established by Turner Broadcasting System (TBS) in 2006. It provided users with video games and game-related video content. The service was acquired by French online video game service Metaboli in 2008 as a wholly owned subsidiary; Metaboli aimed to create a global games service. The service remained active until October 2015, when it was shut down by Metaboli. Features GameTap was conceived primarily as an online subscription rental service, competing against mail-based services like GameFly. GameTap offered two subscription levels: a Premium subscription with access to the entire content library, and a Classic subscription with access to older console and arcade games running in emulation. GameTap also sold games via the online distribution method. GameTap initially offered a limited selection of games for free play without a subscription, but this option was discontinued. American McGee's Grimm
''American McGee's Grimm'' is a 23-part episodic video game series based upon ''Grimm's Fairy Tales'', designed by American McGee, developed by Spicy Horse and distributed online initially by GameTap starting July 31, 2008. ''Grimm'' was originally thought to resemble the warped fairy tale style of ''American McGee's Alice'', but the art style appears to be much more child-friendly and simplistic. ''Grimm'' is written and executive-produced by the same person as ''American McGee's Alice'', R. J. Berg. The original announcement was made in the June 2007 issue of ''PC Gamer''. Spicy Horse Games is using Unreal Engine 3 technology for ''American McGee's Grimm''. There are 23 weekly episodes, divided into three seasons of eight or seven episodes each. Each episode offers approximately a half an hour of gameplay, although different playing styles (either for "complete conversion" or "speed-runs") make for different times. Uru Live
''Myst Online: Uru Live'' is an open source massively multiplayer online adventure game developed by Cyan Worlds. The game is the multiplayer component to the 2003 video game '' Uru: Ages Beyond Myst''. Like ''Uru'', ''Myst Online'' takes place in 2000s New Mexico, where an ancient civilization known as the D'ni once thrived. The D'ni had the ability to create portals to other worlds or Ages by writing descriptive books of the Age. Players uncover clues and solve puzzles together; plot developments were added via episodic content updates. ''Uru''s multiplayer segment was delayed and only shipped with the single-player component initially; in February 2004 the multiplayer was scrapped entirely. Dedicated fans kept an unsupported version of the game alive through Cyan-maintained servers. Online game distributor GameTap resurrected the game as ''Myst Online'' in 2007, but this version was canceled due to a lack of subscribers despite generally positive reviews. Sam & Max Save The World
''Sam & Max Save the World'' is a graphic adventure game, graphic adventure video game developed by Telltale Games. The game was originally released as ''Sam & Max: Season One'' before being renamed in early 2009. ''Save the World'' was developed in an episodic video game, episodic fashion, comprising six episodes that were released for Microsoft Windows over the course of late 2006 and early 2007. The episodes were initially distributed online by GameTap and Telltale Games themselves, although the later retail releases of the game were published by The Adventure Company. A Wii port of the game was published in late 2008, and an Xbox Live Arcade version was released in mid-2009. ''Space Ghost Coast to Coast'' is an American live-action/ adult animated hybrid television series created by Mike Lazzo for Cartoon Network and first broadcast in 1994. It takes the form of a surreal parody of talk shows, hosted by a reimagined version of the Hanna-Barbera character Space Ghost. It incorporates surrealism and non-sequitur humor. ''Space Ghost Coast to Coast'' is the first TV show produced by Williams Street (formerly known as Ghost Planet Industries), which started Adult Swim in the early 2000s.
