Gallos De Sancti Spíritus
Gallos de Sancti Spíritus (English: Sancti Spíritus Roosters) is a baseball team in the Cuban National Series. The team won the series championship in 1978-79 Cuban National Series, 1978–79. The Gallos have advanced to the National Series semifinals in each of the past two seasons; 2004-05 Cuban National Series, 2004–05 and 2005-06 Cuban National Series, 2005–06. Three Sancti Spíritus players were part of Cuba national baseball team, Cuba's team at the 2006 World Baseball Classic: Frederich Cepeda, Yulieski Gourriel and Eriel Sánchez. Sancti Spíritus () is a municipality and capital city of the province of Sancti Spíritus in central Cuba and one of the oldest Cuban European settlements. Sancti Spíritus is the genitive case of Latin ''Sanctus Spiritus'' ("Holy Spirit"). History The city was founded by Diego Velázquez de Cuéllar in 1514. Yaguajay () is a municipality and town in the Sancti Spíritus Province of Cuba. It is located in the northern part of the province, and borders the Bay of Buena Vista to the north.
