Galavisión is an American Spanish-language pay television network owned by TelevisaUnivision. The network is unrelated to the earlier Mexican channel of the same name, though both broadcast Televisa-produced programming. As of February 2015, approximately 68,355,000 American households (58.7% of households with television) received Galavisión. History Galavisión was launched as a premium cable network by Spanish International network (now Univision) on September 1, 1979, broadcasting a mix of classic and recent Mexican and other Spanish-language films as well as Spanish-dubbed recent Hollywood productions. By 1984, the network became a general entertainment basic cable channel, offering a combination of Televisa programming and SIN reruns. 1080i
In high-definition television (HDTV) and video display technology, 1080i is a video display format with 1080 lines of vertical resolution and Interlaced video, interlaced scanning method. This format was once a standard in HDTV. It was particularly used for broadcast television because it can deliver high-resolution images without needing excessive bandwidth. This format is used in the SMPTE 292M standard. Definition The number "1080" in 1080i refers to the number of horizontal lines that make up the vertical resolution of the display. Each of these lines contributes to the overall detail and clarity of the image. The letter "i" stands for Interlaced video, interlaced. ''Nosotros los guapos'' is a Mexican sitcom that premiered on Blim on August 19, 2016, and ended on Las Estrellas on 16 February 2020. ''Vecinos'' () is a Mexican television series created by Eugenio Derbez, based on Spanish television series '' Aquí no hay quien viva''. It premiered on Las Estrellas on July 10, 2005. Ingrid Hoffmann (born April 10, 1965) is a Colombian-American television personality and restaurateur, who hosts the Food Network series ''Simply Delicioso'' and the Spanish-language cooking and lifestyle show ''Delicioso'' on Galavisión. Her cookbook, ''Simply Delicioso: A Collection of Everyday Recipes with a Latin Twist'', was published on February 8, 2008, by Clarkson Potter. Las Estrellas () is a Mexican television network owned by TelevisaUnivision. Its first official broadcast took place on 21 March 1951. It airs free-to-air through affiliate stations throughout Mexico, based on XEW-TDT in Mexico City. It is considered the most-watched television channel in Mexico and serves as Televisa's flagship channel. Ilia Calderón Chamat (born 1972) is a Colombian journalist. Born in Chocó, Calderón currently works as the news anchor for Univision's national evening newscast '' Noticiero Univision''.
