G1, stylized as g1, is a Brazilian news portal maintained by Grupo Globo and under the guidance of Central Globo de Jornalismo. It was released on 18 September 2006, the same date as Rede Globo's anniversary. The portal provides journalistic content from various companies of Grupo Globo – TV Globo, Globo News, Radios CBN and Globo, the newspapers O Globo, Extra, Expresso and Valor Econômico, Época and Globo Rural magazines, among others – besides its own reports in the form of text, photographs, audio and video. In literary theory, a text is any object that can be "read", whether this object is a work of literature, a street sign, an arrangement of buildings on a city block, or styles of clothing. It is a set of Sign (semiotics), signs that is available to be reconstructed by a reader (or observer) if sufficient interpretants are available.
