Frits Wester
Frits Wester (born 29 March 1962) is a Dutch journalist. He is best known as parliamentary correspondent for RTL Nieuws. Biography Wester was born in 1962 in the Dutch town Veenendaal. He was already engaged in politics at a young age, and was a co-founder of the youth wing of the Christian Democrats, Christian Democratic Youth Appeal, CDJA (CDA-jongeren) in Alkmaar. When he was 22, he was involved in local organizations that were active on a range of political hot topics, including Abortion debate, abortion, Euthanasia, euthenesia, unemployment and nuclear arms. He was the driver of the leader of the Christian Democrats (CDA) in the House of Representatives Bert de Vries, which was his introduction to national politics. He was offered a job at the group's communications department and became the personal spokesperson for Elco Brinkman, a prominent politician. Veenendaal
Veenendaal () is a municipality and a town in central Netherlands, located in the province of Utrecht. Veenendaal is the only population centre within its administrative borders. The municipality had a population of 67.601 inhabitants on 1 january 2022 and covers an area of . History The original village was founded in the middle of the 16th century as a peat colony from which it got its name. ''Veen'' is the Dutch word for fen and ''daal'' for dale. RTL Z is a Dutch free-to-cable business and financial news television channel. It displays economic changes and the stock exchange news in a banner at the bottom of the screen in the daytime. In the evenings the programming consists of documentaries. RTL Z started on 6 June 2001 as a joint venture between Holland Media Groep and Belgian Business Television. ''5 jaar later'' (Dutch for ''5 years later'') is a Dutch television show presented by Beau van Erven Dorens (previously by Jeroen Pauw). In each episode a well-known Dutch person's life is discussed based on an interview that was recorded five years earlier and kept in a vault for years. In 2017, NPO decided to no longer broadcast the show and the show then moved to the RTL 4 channel owned by RTL Nederland. Beau van Erven Dorens also took over as presenter of the show. Jeroen Pauw himself was the first guest on the show after Beau van Erven Dorens took over as presenter. Pauw's interview was conducted by Daphne Bunskoek fifteen years earlier. Pauw won both a ''TV-beeld'' award as well as the Sonja Barend Award for the show. The show is also Pauw's idea and owned by Pauw's company TVBV. Jan Pieter "Jan Peter" Balkenende Jr. (; born 7 May 1956) is a Dutch politician of the Christian Democratic Appeal (CDA) party and jurist who served as Prime Minister of the Netherlands from 22 July 2002 to 14 October 2010.
