Fresh (band)
Fresh is a British pop punk band formed in London in 2015 by Kathryn Woods (vocals/guitar), with George Phillips (bass) and Daniel Goldberg (drums) joining in 2016. The current lineup is completed by Myles McCabe (guitar), who joined in 2017. They have released two full-length albums and three EPs. History Fresh was started in London in 2015 by songwriter Kathryn Woods (vocals/guitar). George Phillips (bass) and Daniel Goldberg (drums) joined the live band in 2016, and would go on to play on its debut album. The current lineup is completed by Myles McCabe (guitar), who joined in 2017. After self-releasing two EPs in 2015 the band signed to Specialist Subject Records and released their self-titled debut album on 18 August 2017. The album was recorded at The Ranch in Southampton. In July 2017 they were featured in Kerrang! who compared them to Modern Baseball, Joyce Manor, and Diet Cig. Get Better Records is an American independent record label based in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. History and background The label was founded by Alex Lichtenauer and Nick King in 2009 in Keene, New Hampshire. King left the label in 2010; Get Better is now co-run by Lichtenauer with Ally Einbinder and Jenna Pup. Its stated aim is to "reverse the constant underrepresentation of the queer arts community, with a specific focus on punk, hardcore, and alternative rock music". It catalogs more than three million album entries and 30 million tracks, as well as information on musicians and bands. Diet Cig is an American indie rock duo that formed in September 2014 in New Paltz, New York, United States. The band consists of Alex Luciano on guitar/vocals and Noah Bowman on drums. Their first studio album, ''Swear I'm Good At This'', was released in April 2017. Their second studio album, Do You Wonder About Me, was released in May 2020. Luciano and Bowman met at a house show in New Paltz during the summer of 2014. Bowman's old band, Earl Boykins, was playing at the house show, where Luciano needed a cigarette lighter. She interrupted the band's set to ask Bowman for one, but he gave her a bottle of wine instead. Afterwards, Luciano got his number and told him she'd make a music video for him. The next day, Bowman tattooed a daisy on Luciano's foot and by August 2014, the pair were making music together.
