Frederic Storck
Frederic Storck (19 January 1872, Bucharest – 26 December 1942, Bucharest) was a Romanian sculptor. His father was the sculptor Karl Storck. His brother, Carol Storck, was also a sculptor and his wife, Cecilia Cuțescu-Storck was a painter. Life and work He studied at the Bucharest National University of Arts under Professor Ion Georgescu, then pursued further studies in Munich. Later, he became a Professor at the University of Arts himself and, together with Nicolae Vermont, Ștefan Luchian and others, was one of the founding members of "Tinerimea artistică" (Artistic Youth), a society devoted to Realism; drawing its inspiration from the lives of ordinary people. Frederic Lister Burk (1862–1924) was a Canadian-born American educator, educational theorist, superintendent, educational reformer, university president, and journalist. He served as the founding President of San Francisco State University (formerly San Francisco State Normal School). He lived for many years in Kentfield, Marin County, California. Frédéric Bourdillon (born March 16, 1991) is a French-Israeli professional basketball player who plays for Hapoel Holon in the Israel Basketball Premier League. Sir Frederic Charles Bartlett FRS (20 October 1886 – 30 September 1969) was a British psychologist and the first professor of experimental psychology at the University of Cambridge. Sir Frederic Mackarness Bennett (2 December 1918 – 14 September 2002) was a British journalist, author, barrister and Conservative politician who served as a Member of Parliament for 35 years. He was appointed a Privy Counsellor in 1985, and a Deputy Lieutenant for Greater London in 1990. He was also Lord of the manor of Mawddwy in Wales. Frederic Herbert Maugham, 1st Viscount Maugham, (20 October 1866 – 23 March 1958) was a British barrister and judge who was Lord Chancellor from March 1938 until September 1939. Background and education Born in Paris, Maugham was the second son of Robert Ormond Maugham, a solicitor, by his wife, Edith, daughter of Major Charles Snell. The author W. Somerset Maugham was his younger brother. His grandfather, Robert Maugham, was one of the founders of the Law Society. He was educated at Dover College and at Trinity Hall, Cambridge. He rowed for the winning Cambridge crew in the 1888 Boat Race and was also in the winning Trinity Hall Boat Club coxless four which won the Stewards' Challenge Cup at Henley Royal Regatta that year.
