Frans Duijts
Frans Duijts (born May 10, 1979 in Tiel), is a Dutch singer and former André Hazes-imitator Biography Duijts began his singing career as an André Hazes imitator. But because of the success of the song ''Je denkt maar dat je alles mag van mij'' (''You think that everything you do is alright with me''), a cover of an André Hazes song from 1986 (written by Pierre Kartner), Duijts decided to increase his focus on his own singing career. Meanwhile Duijts already had six hits in the Single Top 100. His album ''Zo ben ik mezelf'' (''This way I can be myself'') was a great success, and remained in the Album Top 100 for the maximum allowed chart-time of two years. Besides singing, he also works in the family business, a demolition company in Tiel. In 2009 Duijts received the prize for the Nederpop hit with the most plays in pubs and restaurants in that year for his single ''Je denkt maar dat je alles mag van mij''. Tiel
Tiel () is a municipality and a town in the middle of the Netherlands. The town is enclosed by the Waal river and the Linge river to the South and the North, and the Amsterdam-Rhine Canal to the East. Tiel comprises the population centres Kapel-Avezaath, Tiel and Wadenoijen. The city was founded in the 5th century CE. The town of Tiel Tiel is the largest town in the Betuwe area, which is famous for being one of the centres of Dutch fruit production. Orchards in the area produce apples, pears, plums and cherries. Tiel once housed the famous jam factory ''De Betuwe''. After production was moved to Breda in 1993, the entire complex was demolished, although a part was reconstructed later. Reminding of this industry is a jam manufacturing museum and a statue of Flipje, the raspberry-based comic figure who starred in De Betuwe's, jam factory advertisements since the 1930s. André Hazes
André Gerardus Hazes (30 June 1951 - 23 September 2004) was a Dutch singer and actor. As an accomplished levenslied singer, Hazes recorded 36 studio and live albums, and 55 singles prior to his death in 2004. His music is still well-known in the Netherlands and Flanders, known for sentimental and simple lyrics. His biggest hits include ''Eenzame kerst'' (1976), ''Een beetje verliefd'' (1981), ''Ik meen 't'' (1985), ''Wij houden van Oranje'' (1988), ''Bloed, zweet en tranen'' (2002), ''Zij gelooft in mij'' (Originally from 1981, re-recorded and released in 1999, re-released after his death in 2004) and ''Blijf bij mij'' (a virtual duet with Gerard Joling, 2007). RTL Nederland is a Dutch media network, a subsidiary of the RTL Group. The media company is located in Hilversum, although the licences of its TV stations are issued in Luxembourg. History The history of the network dates back to 1989 when dutch minded ''RTL-Véronique'' started airing from Luxembourg. At the time commercial television was prohibited in The Netherlands, but by airing from Luxembourg the law could be bypassed. Pierre Kartner
Petrus Antonius Laurentius Kartner (11 April 1935 – 8 November 2022) was a Dutch musician, singer-songwriter and record producer who performed under the stage name Vader Abraham (''Father Abraham''). He wrote around 1600 songs. Early life and songwriting Kartner was born on 11 April 1935. He started his singing career at the age of eight, by winning a local festival. He lived with his family in Amsterdam and worked in a chocolate factory. Kartner worked as a promoter and producer at record label Dureco with Annie de Reuver, with whom he formed Duo X. He was a member of the band Corry & de Rekels, which sold over one million records in the 1960s. Kartner wrote the music for the opening and closing credits on the Japanese cartoon adaption of the 1990 TV series ''Moomin'' and " Ik ben verliefd (Shalalie)", the Dutch entry for the 2010 Eurovision Song Contest. Single Top 100
The Dutch Single Top 100 or Single Top 100 is a Dutch chart, based on official physical single sales, legal downloads and since July 2013 streaming and composed by Dutch Charts. It is one of the three official charts, the other two being the Dutch Top 40 and the Mega Top 30. The difference is that these charts also include airplay data. The list is especially intended for the music industry and those who take an interest in charts. In Dutch TV programmes the ''Single Top 100'' is often cited, although it has not been broadcast since December 2006. The Dutch Album Top 100 or Album Top 100 is a weekly hit list of music albums, compiled by Dutch Charts. List shows the 100 best-selling music albums of the moment in the Netherlands. The list has passed through various name changes and has expanded from a Top 10 to a Top 100. Names Album chart by ''Stichting Nederlandse Top 40'' From 1969 to 1999, an alternative weekly album chart was published by offshore radio station Radio Veronica (1969-1974) and the '' Stichting Nederlandse Top 40'' (1974-1999). This chart varied in length from a top 20 (1969-1971 and from 1972 to 1974) to a top 50 (1971-1972 and 1974–1985), a top 75 (1985-1991) and a top 100 (1991-1999). This album chart was regarded by many as the official one, since it was widely published while the chart listed above was not (not until 1993). Nederpop
Nederpop or Dutch pop music is pop music made by Dutch bands and artists. The name is a play on the country's name in Dutch ''(Nederland)''. An English translation could be ''Netherpop''. Nederpop is a Dutch term invented by the mid-1970s to describe the Dutch pop music scene of the 1960s and 1970s that was gaining worldwide attention, exemplified by bands such as Shocking Blue, Golden Earring and Focus. Most of the Nederpop bands of this period had English-language songs or played only instrumentals, but some of the bands performed exclusively in the Dutch language. Many such were popular thanks to airplay over the offshore pirate radio stations targeting the Netherlands such as Mi Amigo, Veronica, Atlantis and Northsea International.
