''Flyleaf'' is the debut studio album by American rock band Flyleaf. It was released on October 4, 2005, through Octone Records. A re-packaged CD/DVD special edition was released on October 30, 2007, which included additional acoustic tracks and music videos. The album was re-released on January 14, 2008, through Polydor Records in the United Kingdom, which included three additional acoustic tracks. While the band's then frontwoman Lacey Sturm prominently sings, her unclean vocals are frequent throughout the album. Lyrically, the album deals with topics such as Christianity, love and death. ''Flyleaf'' received mixed reviews from music critics. It debuted at No. 88 on the ''Billboard'' 200, selling more than 13,000 copies within its first week. Due to the band's growing exposure to fame in 2007, it eventually reached its peak of No. 57 on the week of September 17, 2007, and spent more than 133 weeks on the chart. Flyleaf (band)
Flyleaf is an American rock band formed in Belton, Texas, in 2002. The band has charted on mainstream rock, Christian pop, and Christian metal genres. They performed around the US in 2003 before releasing their eponymous debut album, '' Flyleaf'', in 2005. The album went platinum after selling more than one million copies. Flyleaf released their second album, ''Memento Mori'', in 2009, which debuted and peaked at No. 8 on the Billboard charts. Shortly before the release of their third album, ''New Horizons'' (2012), lead vocalist Lacey Sturm announced her departure. Kristen May subsequently became the new lead vocalist. Death is the irreversible cessation of all biological functions that sustain an organism. Lacey Sturm
Lacey Nicole Sturm (née Mosley, previously Carder; born September 4, 1981) is an American singer and songwriter born in Homestead, Florida, but raised in Arlington, Texas. She is a co-founder and lead vocalist of the hard rock band Flyleaf. In February 2016, Sturm became the first solo female artist to top the ''Billboard'' Hard Rock Albums chart with her debut release '' Life Screams''. Personal life Sturm was an atheist prior to becoming a Christian. She had contemplated suicide and then ended up in a church where a man spoke to her what she believed to be words from God.
