Flacq District
Flacq () is a district of Mauritius, situated in the east of the island. It is the largest district, having an area of 297.9 km², the population estimate was at 138,460 as at 31 December 2015. Places of interest The small village of Trou d'Eau Douce, from where visitors take boats for tours on Île aux Cerfs island. The beach Belle Mare attracts a lot of Mauritians and tourists. Note that the statistics do not take into account the two new village councils areas were created out of Écroignard and Grande Retraite out of Laventure in 2011 following the new Local Government Act. Districts Of Mauritius
The Districts of the Republic of Mauritius are the second-level administrative divisions after the Outer Islands of Mauritius. Mauritius Island Mauritius Island is divided into nine districts which consist of one city, four towns, and 130 villages. Its capital is Port Louis. The Plaines Wilhems District consists mainly of four towns: Beau Bassin-Rose Hill, Curepipe, Quatre Bornes, and Vacoas-Phoenix. The other districts consist of different villages, some of which are further divided into suburbs. As of December 31, 2012, the urban population stood at 536,086 and the rural population was 718,925. Autonomous region # Rodrigues Rodrigues used to be the tenth district of Mauritius. The island gained autonomy in 2002, its capital is Port Mathurin. Mauritius Time
Mauritius Time, or MUT, is the time zone used by the Indian Ocean island nation of Mauritius. The zone is four hours ahead of UTC ( UTC+04:00). Mauritius does not use daylight saving time, however, it has been used in the past. Daylight saving time was first introduced in Mauritius in 1982, however, it was discontinued the following year. It was re-introduced in 2008, however, it was not used in 2009 or since. In 2008, the period started at 2 am UTC+5 (1 am UTC+4) on 26 October 2008 (the last Sunday in October), and ended at 2 am UTC+5 (1 am UTC+4) on 29 March 2009 (the last Sunday in March). Statistics Mauritius
Statistics Mauritius formerly known as the Central Statistics Office (CSO) is the national statistical agency of Mauritius. It operates under the aegis of the Ministry of Finance and Economic Development and is responsible for all statistical activities except for fisheries and health statistics which fall under the responsibility of the respective ministry. According to the Statistics Act No. 38 of 2000, "Statistics Mauritius shall constitute the central statistical authority and depository of all officials statistics produced in Mauritius and as such, shall collect, compile, analyse and disseminate accurate, relevant, timely and high quality statistics and related information on social, demographic, economic and financial activities to serve the needs of public and private users." Centre De Flacq
Centre de Flacq or Central Flacq is the metropolitan area of Flacq District, located in the center of the district, the village is one of the most developed and popular villages in Mauritius. Home of several commercials and public institutions, the village topped the list of the most developed village in Flacq District. The village is administered by the Centre de Flacq Village Council under the aegis of the Flacq District Council. According to the census made by Statistics Mauritius in 2011, the population was at 15,791. The main source of transportation are taxi and bus service and English was registered as its official language and is highly exercised for notifications and advertisements. Lallmatie
Lallmatie is a village in Mauritius—located on the west side of Flacq District—it occupied a latitude around -20.1897222 and a longitude around 57.6611111. It has a density of 793.5/km2 (2,055/sq mi) and a total population of around 11,910 inhabitants. Lallmatie is one of the most developed villages in Mauritius and has a wide natural resources which include vast sugarcane fields, dense forests and rivers. The village is sub divided into three plots—which include the Metropolitan area known as Royal Road Lallmatie—the residential area and—the flora and fauna area known as Giroday Road Lallmatie which consists of forest, sugar cane field and waterfall. Christianity, Catholic, Islam are practiced by Lallmatian but the most dominating religion is Hinduism, around 83% of Lallmatian are Hindu Mauritian.
