Fischbach Alps
The Fischbach Alps (german: Fischbacher Alpen) are part of the Prealps East of the Mur. Location and countryside The Fischbach Alps are a gentle, elongated mountain range in the Alps, with the character of a low mountain range and covered in forests and Alpine meadows. They are located in the Styria in Austria, south of the Mürz. They are the eastern outliers of the Central Alps and part of the Styrian Prealps. They extend from the water gap of the Mur in the west to the Feistritz Saddle in the east. Their highest summit is the Stuhleck (). Other high points are the Pretul (1,656 m) and Amundsenhöhe (1,666 m), the Teufelstein (1,498 m), the Stanglalpe (1,490 m), the Sauernkogel (1,451 m), the Steinriegel (1,577 m), the Hochschlag (1,580 m) and the Rennfeld (1,629 m). Feistritz Saddle
The Feistritz Saddle (german: Feistritzsattel, elevation 1,298 m) is a high mountain pass in the Austrian Alps between the ''Bundesländer'' of Lower Austria and Styria. The pass leads between the Wechsel (1,743 m) and the Stuhleck (1,784 m). With the Semmering, it is one of the most important links between Lower Austria and Styria. Many hiking trails in the area make it a destination for hikers, particularly to the nearby Sonnwendstein. Mürzzuschlag is a town in northeastern Styria, Austria, the capital of the former Mürzzuschlag District. Peter Rosegger
Peter Rosegger (original ''Roßegger'') (31 July 1843 – 26 June 1918) was an Austrian writer and poet from Krieglach in the province of Styria. He was a son of a mountain farmer and grew up in the woodlands and mountains of Alpl. Rosegger (or Rossegger) went on to become a most prolific poet and author as well as an insightful teacher and visionary. In his later years, he was honoured by officials from various Austrian universities and the city of Graz (the capital of Styria). He was nominated for the Nobel Prize in Literature three times. He was nearly awarded the Nobel Prize in 1913 and is (at least among the people of Styria) something like a national treasure to this day. Fischbach (Steiermark)
Fischbach is a municipality in the district of Weiz in Styria, Austria. It has 1530 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2021). On 27 February 2003, it was officially recognized as a climatic spa (Luftkurort) by the Styrian government. Fischbach is the highest place in East Styria. Geography Fischbach is a town in the Fischbacher Alpen and is located about 12 km northwest of Birkfeld and about 27 km air-line distance from the district capital Weiz. Rennfeld
Rennfeld (1,629 m) is a mountain in the Fischbach Alps, part of the Prealps east of the Mur. It is the westernmost peak of the range.
