Unwed Sailor is an American, mostly instrumental band, formed in 1998 by Johnathon Ford, with recordings that range from instrumental rock to ambient drones. The band's touring and recording lineups have largely been in rotation over the years, with the core member being Bass (instrument), bassist Ford. Unwed Sailor has consistently toured throughout the United States and Europe since its inception in 1998. ''Stateless'' is a 2002 album on which the bands Unwed Sailor and Early Day Miners collaborated to create a soundtrack for filmmaker Chris Bennett's film of the same name. The film is included on the Enhanced CD with the entire album playing seamlessly as its soundtrack. The film features around 30 minutes of footage that Bennett shot on Super 8 mm film, Super 8 film during his various travels. The release was mastered by Carl Saff. Matthew Putman is an American drummer, percussionist, and multi-instrumentalist based in Arkansas. He is best known for being a member of the bands Norma Jean, Unwed Sailor, Living Sacrifice, and Lovedrug, as well as his work as a producer and engineer. Musical career Putman began his career in 1996 when he formed the Mathcore band Eso-Charis in Fort Smith, Arkansas with his brother Cory Brandan Putman, who later went on to join Norma Jean. When Eso-Charis disbanded in 1998, Putman joined the heavy metal band Living Sacrifice from 1998 to 2003, playing percussion on their seminal albums ''The Hammering Process'' and ''Conceived in Fire''. Matt Johnson (born 6 November 1970 in Houston, Texas ) is an American drummer who played in the band of Jeff Buckley, appearing and co-writing one song on his album ''Grace'' in 1994, as well as on subsequent live releases and EPs. Although he stopped playing with Buckley before recording began on what was to become the singer's final original album (released posthumously as ''Sketches for My Sweetheart the Drunk''), Johnson shares writing credits for one of its tracks. Battles is an American experimental rock group, founded in 2002 in New York City by Ian Williams (formerly of Don Caballero and Storm & Stress).
